ea82 swapped to ea82t problems..
I suggest you do some more research here about the engine you want to swap in, it may be more trouble than you expect.

jb weld?
Turbone replied to sirtokesalot's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt may not leak right away, but sooner or later its going to happen. I would try some other products out there, like more of a metal putty. And clean the surface well prior to applying.

Glad I wasnt the only one to get a pull out! That was some slick as snot snow and when I left I struggled at the spot where the road got steep. Def going to get some better snow tires!

List of rims that can be used on older Subarus...
I did split rims for years without a cage. I had one pop but was smart enough to not be near it. I still hate the damn things tho and will never do another one. Please give suggestions instead of opinions folks

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Depending on where you buy your tires, a lot of places, if they have a used tire in the size you want, will mount it on your wheel and see if it fits under the car. Bigger tires always cost more but availability isnt a problem for that size. I suggest you look into this, I was able to do it Discount Tire a few years ago with a XT6. And no, a 15" wheel and tire will not fit under the hood. And I would spend the $ to get my bearings fixed before getting wheels/tires first.

What Have You Done to your Soobie lately? (Please post in here and keep it going)
Had to weld a small reinforcement plate on my drivers seat base (Mitsu seats) which broke and made the left side loose Must have been all that torque pushing me back in the seat........or my fat arse. Or a combination of both

There are some that take it to another level tho To the OP, when you say vacation home and your in LA, just where abouts is your vacay home? Dont mean to pry, but I was born and raised in SoCal and my last place of residence was the San Berdo mountains.

A Brat man, now looking at a Forester.... words...
Turbone replied to Indrid cold's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXMy 02 was wrecked when I got, I'm into it around $1500. Just about to hit 200k and theres no sign of the engine having any issues. The struts are shot, mostly due to the abuse I heaped on it during my move last year. Its a work horse and I dont treat it like my RX, its like a shop truck.

John Bloom/Mudrat79
That sucker had a ton of freeway miles on it lol. I remember the last show I took it to - WCSS14 in Cashmere. On the way home it blew a rear u-joint and after a quick stop in North Bend I was running it in 4WD to get home. When GD took it home, the right front bearing went out and I brought him another hub which he changed out on the side of the road. Fun times in that rig lol.

John started the build on my old camo hatch, but the next owner had to go in and redo a bunch of stuff plus adding more. I wish I had never sold the hatch, GD drove it once last winter and it just sits at his shop.

I'm thinking more of the classic gold or copper for the wheels

Honestly, I thought I would like the matte finish more. But I'm beginning to believe that the original gloss was better. Dipyourcar.com makes a glossifier and a metallizer, I might try one or the other. And I can always peel the whole thing off if I really dont like it or get tired of it.

Just a heads-up, user SkankinPickle has swindled me out of a purchased part.
As far as I know, no one has ever had any issues getting parts from skank. Waiting a month is not uncommon to get your parts. I suggest giving it another 2 weeks, then if you dont get your parts something will be done.
