  1. I assume you removed the Outback rails?
  2. Theres a temp control lever where the water lines come thru the firewall. Its above the gas pedal. It works something like a ratchet gear and sometimes slips out of adjustment. If your able to position yourself right you can get a a look at it. You can grab the valve and readjust it full open. It might take a little manipulation at first but it might help. If the valve is fine then its most likely the core. You might be able to flush it from the lines in the engine bay.
  3. Changed the tires on my Foz today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oruO6TuoSB4&feature=youtu.be
  4. You guys got it backwards. Overheating at low speed = Waterpump Overheating at high speed = Radiator
  5. You need to spin it slowly until it meshes up with the pump. If you cant get it, pull it out a ways and reposition it and try again.
  6. Its on the same page as this and about 4 post down http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/141738-hatch-patrols-xmas-tree-run-2013-1207/
  7. Actually, he doesnt need to rewire it, he just needs to add some for the sensors etc. But he may need the ECU for it. And the engine crossmember. And all the sensors. Do you have access to the parts car you got the engine from?
  8. Guess I need to check in more often, build a bigger fire under your arse next time
  9. Theres a rubber piece at the top left (as you look at the engine)of the bellhousing that covers a hole. Remove the rubber flap and turn the crank till you see the bolts.
  10. Check around for local towers, they might know something. Plus any scrap yards around to see if they got any Subaru's in lately. I mean, hauling off 4 cars to a location takes a little time and effort, they cant be far.
  11. How could they haul off 4 cars without someone seeing it in that little town? I'm dumbfounded and a little more than upset, I knew 2 of those cars personally
  12. I believe they are all the same. But dont get a catted up pipe, thats bad juju for the turbo.

This turbo isnt worth rebuilding and finding parts for it is impossible. Best to get another one with little or no shaft play or upgrade to the VF11 from the early Legacy's.
  14. Sounds pretty neat, but the only sad thing about it all is he's not building it himself - Its being built by Northwest Rally Sports. Still, its a cool build.
  15. I've installed a few different types of seats in older Subaru's, so I'm not sure what would fit in yours. But to get some Mitsubishi seats to fit, I had to do some minor fabricating. Brackets had to be welded onto the seat bottoms for the rails, etc. If you get a seat thats height adjustable it shouldnt be to hard to do the rest.
  16. What year? If its 86(87?) and up it will have a hotwire and should only be cleaned with MAF cleaner that you can get at the parts store.
