  1. what the heck i thought rx's were only availble in black and white?
  2. digi dash's look cool but they are not at all accurate, i know atleast one member who added analog pod gauges so he would know what his engine is doing. probably a bad ground
  3. wiring is a big headach not to mention motor mounts crossmembers deminsions i work at an auto parts store, helping people find the correct mounts when doing engine swaps is a huge pain in the rump roast not to mention the wiring, but it is doable it just takes forever edit: in case you couldn't tell i hate wireing
  4. congrats, glad you finally got it back:headbang: here's to the community:headbang:
  5. you guys are a-s-s-h-o-l-e's a weard smell could be any thing, and any car is as reliable as youy make it i have spent the last year fixing my xt-6 and it hasn't left em stranded for 5 months now it still has it's kinks but it is a 17 year old car, expect problems but with all the stuff you have done just don't give up and start half assing the work and you will eventually have a good reliable vehical edit: check the tension on your belts that is the most likely source of a squel\ second edit : quit ***************ing
  6. i can probably make it, but i have court that week, hrm if i can get two days off i'll be there, you stole my thread copy cat
  7. your thinking of quattro san it was a one off carbed turbo for the movie cannonball run it is a black turbo hatch
  8. rice means ghetto modded like using alumnium foil to fix your distributer using home depot rubber connectors for your air intake etc... basically it boils down to held together with bailing wire, it can also be used to describe a car that has been visually upgraded to a how could it look any worse degree
  9. bosch and subaru should never be used in the same sentence i had a set in the six's old engine before it blew they were horrable carbon build up constantly never stayed clean. i had horrable missfiring problems the whole tim i used them as far as spark plugs use the oe ngk's, or i am currently running a brand called e3 they rule almost 10,000 miles and they still look like the day i put them in:headbang:
  10. wait so you have a turbo brat with a 4spd?if so
  11. cool:headbang: so when are you bringing it out here for a meet:grin:
  12. it's not you, bg73i don't know how to put it but he hates any thing not ea82, it's unbelievably annoying i mean evreyone has a right to there oppinion but stop forcing it down evreyone elses throat, egr is good, 5mains is way better than three, and the ej22 is as solid if not more solid than the ea82, he thinks the ej22 is a pos, for some unknown reason defiying rational thought he verbally trashes it allot with no actual proff beyond the fact that he is god apperantly, so me and a few other member takes it upon ourselves to prove him wrong evrey chance we get, childish i know, but for the love of god 5 main bearings 66.666% better than three i couldn't agree more completely
  13. i'd drive it here but i enjoy attentionm and the traffic courts are leniant
  14. i second this, i have never seen an ej motor blow but i have personally seen three ea series motors that were no longer servicable all under 170,000
  15. 2 cents i used ultra black rtv and i have had no trouble so far
  16. the jdm dual carb ea81 engines put out 103 hp i would think with spfi you could see 110-115 easy maybe more with a little work
  17. hey ask a stupid question get a stupid answer i hate to say this because it is wrong to just scream use the search function but any one who has been here more than a month should know to do a search on the TOD. i mean it seems like clockwork evrey 1 1/2 months someone posts a TOD thread etc. also quit ***************ing you asked for help. people responded to help and you chew them out think before you post.
  18. put the one of my blazer up it kicked rump roast:headbang:
  19. here's a few of my favorites more to come
  20. sadly so do i congradulations the ultimate 80's subaru xt6 ftw:headbang: :headbang:
  21. ha ha i ment when you did the swap did you wire the selector switch to where the car thinks it's in park, drive, or neutral, to elaborate most cars idle faster in park than when in drive or neutral,
  22. true but you have to remember that the main weakiness of the ea82 is the fact that it over heats and blows hg's meaning subaru is going to put allot of time into the cooling system, add that into the fact that it was in production for around 10 years i'm kinda supprised it changed as little as it did. no problem
  23. i agree it is very simple just remember where evreything goes and it's about a 12-18 hr job depending on how fast you work, and yep the motor is definatly toast
  24. are you telling the car it is in drive or neutrial?
  25. yes you do have to remove the timing belt covers to change the water pump http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24933&highlight=different+waterpumps this should help you figure out which pump you have
