  1. yeah, good question,,, i emagin there is a lot of gearing involved,, the geared down Unimog axles would be a must with those tires
  2. So Far I have been pleased with my AA 4"lift kit http://alliedarmament.homestead.com/ everything bolted up well,,, and the welded one piece strut mounts are sturdy. and the price was best. just make sure when you decide,, to specify what kind of steering and what kind of transmission you have ie: ( power , 3/4 rack and pinnon or regular manual steering)
  3. Found this photo in the March issue of Petersons 4 wheel drive and Off-Road magizine.... Enjoy! And yes,, there is a girl driving it
  4. 3 posibiltys mentioned to me once about that. 1 steering rack tie-down bushings bad ( i'm sure there is a better name for it) 2 rubbing of tire against wheel well under heavy steering 3 change of CV joint pitch, pressure or position due to suspesion upgrade I'm sure there are like 20 other posibilties:grin:
  5. Ok, try this on for size,,,, my insurance company said i had to pay a higher rate for another year,,, why? you ask... Because i got a ticket 3 years ago,,, however sence i recieved the ticket in DEC and although i payed the fine and went to court in December,,,,it did not post to my driving record untill Febuary of the following year:mad: ((according to the insurance company)) Now,,, is that load of poopykaka or not?
  6. Humm,,, water cooled with sand lubrication,,,,
  7. Man that looks like fun,!,, i can't do anything like that untill i replace my CV boot,,,( air cooled CV units)
  8. You know what is really funny,,,, The insurance company says your car is worth $400,,,, the county tax office says your car is worth $2000....
  9. insurance is a legal form of an old Mafia tactic,, "Hey,, you likea to drivea, yeah? you better paya us,,, and we mighta let you"
  10. Man thats your car!,, everytime i saw pics of your car it was covered in mud:-p
  11. Sure,, just take a Diesel Rabbit and built a Justy body around it
  12. 32 dollars each from SUMMIT racing, was free shipping when i got mine
  13. I don't know who's Wagon this is,, but i think it is a very Nice, very clean and well balanced (tires not too big) looking car,,
  14. Eagles rock,,, however, having observed them in action,,, there a bit of a suspension issue,, ive seen em bust shocks and roll However my lifted subee with the big tires kinda makes me feel like i am going to break something on the next pothole i hit. would definatly stick with a light tire and rim for the subee, as well. if your going baja.
  15. Automatic or manual transmission???? mine , with 4" lift ,manuel steering, automatic transmision , needed to be... 14-5/8ths 3” lift might need to be shorter And with a manual transmission you might need it to be longer due to the position of the transmission mounts. Also, from what Ive seen,,, the "flats" ( like the U joints) on the rack and on the steering colom should be at an 45 degree off-set from each other,,, So…….. I think the idea of cuting it first and then lifting it, might be the best most acurite way of getting the correct lenth.
  16. Check the rubber gromets, or "Drain plugs" under the rear seat and under the floorboards, see if their all thare. I found one missing under the back seat in my subee.
  17. When ordering your lift kit, don't forget to specify what type of transmission and steering you have on the car
  18. OK, I guess,, I really mean,,, the ones befor they squared off the edges. All I know is my 86 GL body and interior seem to be much cheeper in quality than the 83 and older ones
  19. Is it my imagination or,, did MSNBC just change the wording on the poll? "Do you agree with the regulation to restrict off-road vehicles to certain parts of national forests?"
  20. I sent this letter to MSNBC. Dear Sir or Miss Your online poll, - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9900937/ - is very partisan. Or it reflects a very lax attitude on the research of the subject. In the poll, you only provide basically two viewpoints or options. 1, No allowance of ATV’s in National Forests no allowance at all. 2, Total allowance of ATV’s in National Forests. Limiting on line poller to this "Narrow" option displays possibly a "hidden agenda" on the part of the poll-provider or very "limited research" in the matter. A more balanced and informed view would be shown by the inclusion of a third option. 3 Should all-terrain vehicles and motorized bikes be allowed limited access to national parks and forests, on specified and controlled "off-road" trails? The inclusion of this third option would display a more "Informed" view. Which I would conclude that a source of news such as MSNBC should be! Thank You, David, P.
