  1. Why are you doing donuts in a 2010 car? Did your parents buy it for you? :-\
  2. Basically '83.5 or '84 to '88 on the U.S. spec cars.
  3. The only advise I can really give you on your ea82t heads is to be careful and not take too much material away from the ports as the head castings are rather thin compared to other subaru's. The best thing you could do is to match the heads to the gaskets and take only as much away as needed and blend the port to the gasket matched portion. Good luck:)
  4. Yes, the most common one people have used is the phantom grip one. I think that is the correct name?
  5. I have forester struts on my '92 leggy sedan and I don't have any issues with axles but I as well had to disconnect the sway bar to get them shoe horned in there.
  6. Ya those are really cool. I want to do one of those conversions someday on one of my future subies.
  7. To clean tools at home I use either a combination of the gojo pumice hand cleaner and old tooth brush or carb or brake clean on wrenches ect. Then douse them quick with really hot water and wipe them dry with a cloth or blow them off with the air nozzle.
  8. More useful info can be found on some of the home built aircraft sites if you search for ej22 conversions for aircraft. There are a few people that will comment on the specifics of everything on here. Also on a side note, napa and a couple other auto parts stores can still get remanned distributors for those.
  9. I never used them offroad but I put them on my wifes vw jetta when she used to drive that in the winter. Good tires, no complaints.
  10. I like the chaser decals you have on your doors and rear hatch.(We never got them badged that way here.) Those are terrific fun in the snow I agree. Good pictures.
  11. I think it has promise. Make sure you use some duct tape in there somewhere.
  12. Definately start at making sure the timing belts are set up proper on that engine. There are 2 on that engine and they are easy to get mixed up if you aren't familiar with it. Also the carb on those isn't the best. You would be wise to eventually put a weber on there if you got the car.
  13. Oil pressure is probably a bad sending unit. The ea81's aren't hard to rebuild but they can be a little tricky. Your car just needs a good once over it sounds like. Good thing is that parts and bearings ect aren't that expensive for that engine.
  14. If you end up needing more info on a place to get a trans done in the denver area shoot me a pm and maybe I can point you in the right direction.
  15. WOW Jerry! Now you have my complete attention!
  16. Your cable that goes to the trans from your gauge is most likely sticking. Yes it is mechanical and may need to be greased a bit.
  17. Wow very good work! Way to stay dedicated to your car and not let the rust gremlins get the best of it. I will keep watching your progress.
  18. I would say go for the subaru. You will find yourself going around corners faster and having way more fun for your average day of driving along with better gas mileage just for starters.
  19. Welcome. I am sure you will find a wealth of knowledge here as I have found. Again welcome.
  20. I don't have any diagrams but you should be getting more voltage from the alternator to charge the battery properly. Around 12.5v to 13.5 is pretty normal for charging.
  21. Nice pictures guys! Looks like you have "real" mud there.
  22. Some good ones I go to: U pull and pay off 66th and broadway in denver. U pull and pay off of zeno and colfax in aurora. Pull and Save off 33rd and peoria in aurora. Colorado Auto Parts off of Oxford and Santa Fe in Englewood. Blakes Auto Salvage in Erie off of I-25 and the erie exit. If you google search any of those you will come up with a better idea of where they are located. Or try a local subaru site: http://www.awdpirates.net
  23. I haven't heard of that one. Where is it located?
