  1. when I did that work, I also went back under the car to re-torque after I drove the car for a few weeks. this is an old thread I put together, pics are gone now I think...some of this may not apply as I was swapping in Prothane bushings. Later, I removed them and put Febest aftermarket in. .https://www.subaruoutback.org/threads/lower-control-arm-rear-bushing-transverse-link-replaced-with-prothane-on-03-outback.48910/post-1223905 just re-read that, I used 180 for the mount bolt torque (all 4 places) and 137ftlbs for the end nut (2 places).
  2. older post, likely everything taken care of by now but, who knows?
  3. those are also wicked tight. huge pulling and braking forces are on those parts. sry I don't recall the value.
  4. sometimes, if you know everything is OK at the 'source'/sensor, and everything is ok at the ecu or w'ever the destination is - might be better just to add your own wiring start to finish and forget about the original harness.
  5. I once read of a harness that was rubbed-thru by the steering shaft u-joint. I don't recall what the actual problem was but took the guy forever to find that problem.
  6. it's a fair amount of work but, axles will swap L to R. maybe see if the sound follows. (while you'rs doing that , check the axle nut is tight I guess.)
  7. www.car-part.com or maybe LKQ check ebay check craigslist for someone 'parting out' a compatible soob. post WTB in classifieds here, and maybe over at www.subaruoutback.org ...?
  8. I'd think the heads are trustworthy, but how long until another rod bearing fails????
  9. yeah, likely would need a resistor 'network' or a small potentiometer connected to created a volatge 'tap'.....? but the ECU may be looking to actually detect a crossing as the sensor switches? live data from an elm327 device or similar might help with this.
  10. live data could help here. I will say, a '99 could have a bad knock sensor. If this car has a MAF, it may be bad/intermittent.....
  11. maybe cam sprocket timing off by a tooth? if there's oil leaking in one place, maybe there's also oil leaking on the spark plugs?
  12. NTN is what you want to see. wish we had access to NTN axles, or at least inner and outer joints, without going thru a dealer.
  13. an 05 could have bad wires in the 'gaiter' between the hatch and the body.
  14. rugosity and maybe tribology are related to 'surface finish' and in some applications are very important.
  15. GD just give us the truth. "Truth needs no defense,it is a Lion, just release it and it can defend itself"
  16. not sure it's been mentioned, but a sneak path for fuel can be the fuel pressure regulator, pull the vacuum line and see if it's wet with fuel.
  17. check here; https://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/subaruonlineparts-com.121/ dunno about Canadian shipping, but they have offered a 'member discount' over there on occasion.
