  2. I think i would probably strip them before i farted i'm about 265 lbs and i dont know how much those bolts can handle.
  3. This setup aint to shabby i might have to use some of this idea
  4. i still havnt been able to get my 81 hatchs to work somone else tried wiring it weird and i have to trace everything back
  5. Easiest way to tell if there worn out is to get under the car grab the drive line near the u-joint and if you can move the u-joint back and fourth and see slop between the round part of the joint and the t shaped section...dang i thought that would be a lot easier to explain...ill try and draw a picture to upload.
  6. i have a ea82t if you interested just give me a fair price, come pull it and its yours.
  7. I would check to see if there are any external leaks comming from the carb. and then look to see if there are any internal leaks (take air filter top off and look down inside to see of there is an over abundance of fuel)
  8. Pugs are the same can remember who but somone just posted about finding a whole bunch in a junk yard
  9. Could also mean massive blowby: does the car smoke much on start up??
  10. i would use a multi-meter first and check the charge at the battery rather than trust the in car amp meter.
  11. We had a customer come in and said his brakes were making funny noises...the caliper piston had worn all the way through on side of the rotor and when we told the kids mom what we found she told us that "right when it starting making weird noises he brought it in" .... i call bs there had to of been really harsh noises before that.
  12. Start at the back and have a buddy stand on the bumper for counter wieght, something similar happend to a guy i work with except instead of it falling off jack stands they loosend the lugs and kicked the fenders until they knocked all four tires and rims off the thing. then they continued to strip the interior of the car. I felt really bad for the guy when i showed up to work the next morning and his car that he'd been working on so that his girlfriend could drive it was resting on the rotors. the car just looked pitiful.
  13. I also had problems with the rear wheel cylinders in both my scoobies and i also have replace cv axles on both thats where is sounds like the clunks comming from checking the wheel cylinders is really easy though and thats where i would start. Welcome to the board theres a ton to learn on here.
  14. well if i do it that way and everything isnt just perfect my aster and camber would be off. i dont know it was just an idea and since im no pro or anything im just kicking the idea around.
  15. I was thinkging of going with a ea82t but now that i think about it it would probably be better to go with a ea81 and hook up and auto tranny just so its easier for my girlfriend to drive. Hmmm im going to have to contemplate this a little longer. but as soon as i get started i will be sure to start a thread and keep everyone informed.
  16. I'd love to set dates to make it somwhere in the nw but i gotta get my car all put together first, and then i gotta get my little buggy up and running, and then i gotta get my girlfriends car going, and then i gotta.......well it just keeps on going and going way too many projects and never enough time to go anywhere fun:banghead: .
  17. Well i just bought a homemade buggy but maily for the design, its only a 1 seater and it has a honda 250 motor in it. Looking at it just got me thinking about fabbing up a frame that is wider and longer and that finally gives me somthing to put my ea82t enigine into. The parts im having problmes thinkin up is a good suspention for the veh. I wast think maybe motorcycle suspention but i think i wouls thras that way too easly. Has anyone done a project like think before?? and are there any hints and tips???
  18. My 1980 hatch has 72 k on it now and hat 58 k when i bought it from the old lady.
