  1. you guys must not have traveled through casper at all!! i say this because the beefiest, scariest, most growlin'-est, 1.8 liters of fuel injected fury is found in my 88gl wagon. i bought my ENTIRE car for like a tenth the price of a baddass engine. either way you go, i'm glad it's a soobie!!
  2. 86 subaru, i looked all throughout the smileys and still can't find the one giving you the finger!!!!! ha jk
  3. hey offroadsubaru, check out the recent post titled "yeah, lift is in" or somethin like that. anyways, there is a link to a photo gallery that shows the front shocks or whatever lowered in their housing a half an inch to correct camber. this might help. prolly not, but i figured i'd give you a heads up.
  4. Snowman, consider yourself lucky. we have a foot and are expecting another. i just don't like not being able to see the road, speed, and fourwheel trails and stuff. also i don't have wipers functioning so i have to drive w/a squeegee out the window. definitely gets some weird looks. like i'm doing it for fun or something!? be prepared snowman. i thought you guys had snow almost year round. huh? shows me.
  5. don't wanna hijack this thread at all, but could someone give a brief explanation of how you would go about putting an extra lug on your hub. can a shop do this?
  6. sorry, i don't have a digital camera. oh, and i got a warning from the sheriff for tearing around in the field adjacent to my house. i was drivin backwards in 4 then shift into two, crank the wheel and gun it. cookies everywhere. big ones. wish i had a camera. or a camcorder. that would be cool. be prepared. it is coming:brow:
  7. we got about a foot of snow here in casper and my 4-wheel is awsome. this is the first time i've played in the snow with my wagon and i absolutely love it. it is fun, but i don't wish snow on any of you guys. on tiop of that, my wipers don't work. fun fun:drunk:
  8. i've heard alot of good things about the turbo mufflers. they make one that fits our cars perfectly, just like stated above. i hear they have much more flow and will increase power across the whole spectrum and increase low-end torque
  9. what would be a good suggestion for a wheel that i only had to drill for lugs, not center fit? i am wondering because i don't want the shudder described above. my car already shudders from my half axles. i've heard toyota has little offset. the offset doesn't really matter. i just want a wheel that fits as snug and secure as possible.
  10. i would almost bet for certain that your lower control arm and/or tie rod/s are bent. i hit a square curb about a week ago. i was traveling about 35 mph. and yes, i WAS under the influence. never try performance braking while drunk. or drive for that matter. i live in a hick town. thats my excuse. but yeah, definitely check the aforementioned. best of luck:drunk:
  11. i thought you forgot. go ahead and send another, i never got it. no rush. just payed $230 for speeding "offense" 72 in 40
  12. my clutch used to be rock solid. i figured the cable was probably frayed in it's housing. i found out that was exactly it when i was on my way to get some free parts. cable snapped. i bought new one from napa or checker or autozone or something. damn thing didn't fit. i went to my dealer and they could get it cheaper than anyone in town. when i first tested it after finally getting it installed, i thought i messed up because it was so light compared to before. i had to use my right foot to tell how stiff it actually was. after driving forever on the stiff one i was always slamming the pedal into the floorboard. go OEM definitely.
  13. good to hear all the success w/ the ATF. after hearing so much about it i think i'm gonna go all out and clean the engine and my tranny. after i fix my oil pressure problem of course.
  14. hey boz. i strongly recommend the hella series lights. particularly the 500's or the square 550's. they throw a nice wide close up light and still throw some light ahead of you so you can see. whats nice is the hellas are really slim and will mount very nicely. the kc's are bulky and have that gay smiley face cover. my opinion: go hella.
  15. you can't find 'em in rochester? i live in a town of 50,000 people, who knows how many tmes smaller than rochester. i am truly surprised. like everyone said, you should be able to get them at any major part store in the tion. i suggest just calling around and asking different stores who has them. it's a good start. i know they are in town somewhere.
  16. i have never heard of combinig the two. ihave heard of running ATF in the tranny for about a block or so to kind of recondition things. did you read the post about the ATF flush ad whatnot¿ i'm getting ready to do an ATF flush for my manual tranny. maybe it will help my synchronizers.
  17. cole, while you drive te car, does your 4wd shifter kinda jolt or move down a ways? if so, i suggest also checking a bolt where your tranny links up to it's mounts or whatever, it is on the pass. side of the trany. hell, it might help.
  18. ShawnW, how sure are you of this? i am in need of clutch work too and also have an 88 gl wagon. i am just wondering because i don't need to install it twice.:-\ will both of them fit. thanks
  19. here's one for all you ea82ers, how do i access the wiper motors? also, what weight of oil do i put in my manual tranny?
  20. whmy simmilar idle problem w/spfi? should i use the same ethods described above. Feel free to elaborate.
  21. gotta drive on it 'til next monday, not the coming, but the next. i'll just get new OEM parts.
  22. same thing happened to me once. we got pulled over by the sheriff and stuffed the greens in the console underneath the stereo. i had to spend 45 min. ripping this nissan apart just to find my smoke. oh, and the bastard sheriff that gave me my ticket came with one of his buddies and woke me up this morning to tell me he had a warrant for failure to appear(for my ticket, i just forgot) and took me to jail. icalled a friend of mine and he started a get brian out of jail fund and made everyone contribute $25. moral of story:show up for court/slow down
  23. how exactly do i do the tranny flush? one post says to drive it a little or put it on stands. one post says not to drive because of differentials. how can i get all the ATF in everwhere and all about the nooks and crannies. some help¿
  24. got the parts today. donor was an 87 gl wagon.picked up a lower control arm and that straight piece connected to it and a wheel w/decent rubber on it for $87. it probably cost me a little more because i went to a yard that pulls everything for you. i just didn't want to bring in a jack and tool and evrything else needed for the job. i kept the originals as relics to show off the raw power and tenacity of the soob. my ball joint is just fine, i asked the dude that pulled my parts, and it seems to move alright.
