  1. i need some help deciding which water pump i need. am i going to need the long one or the short one? could you guys take a look? water pump it's going to be installed on an ea82 w/o a/c.
  2. right on bro, nice to thats its startin to come together. looks good and it oughta be even better after looking at all the soon to be links. keep it comin
  3. i have an ea82. is this a double core? i think a jy radiator would just be asking for trouble.
  4. tim, would you happen to know why my reserve tank does this?
  5. GL right? i was in my buddie's loyale today and i noticed that his were connected to the side of the headliner. i also noticed that his car has some feature that mine does not and visa/versa. i haven't looked in my GL yet, but i had simmilar belts in an 88 nova. i know this doesn't really help, but i noticed it in my only friend with a subaru's car. <sense?> this might have some relevance after all. eh. free bump too.
  6. i'ma replace my radiator w/in the next few days and was wondering if i really need to go two core. thanks fellas
  7. ey timmay! do you know anywhere on-line that i can get that radiator? i know its not the temp guage because it will overheat and DIE!!!!!!! i have it down to only two possiblr problems; the radiator or the water pump. i am gonjna replace both for d\good measure. i know i could find out whick one is giving me trouble, but they both need replaced. oh, one more thing guys, my reserve tank is a little above max and it doesn't seem to be lowering at all when the coolant level decreases. help?
  8. i've got a new theory that when i hit the front end, it knocked a bunch of sh!t loose in the radiator and that is how it plugged up so fast. someone told me that it looked tweaked. i'm gonna re-core the radiator and replace the water pump on monday. hopefully that will fix my problem :fingerscrossed:
  9. alright, i'm telling you it's not the thermo. the hose from the t-stat housing to the radiator will be cold when engine is cold. i even started it cold and warmed it up straight from the throttle body w/one hand on the hose until i felt it come through. the thermo opens. what i don't get is how in the hell could it cool last summer w/100 degree weather and now that it's freezing out it can't cool sh!t. doesn't it take years for a radiator to clog up? it shouldn't have happened in 3 months. i just don't get it.
  10. it's no cure all, but i don't feel that its a waste of money. i did have less oil consumption. i think it has some larger particles or something in it that is supposed to help seal things up a bit. but by all means, it is no "rebuild in a can"
  11. i've recently installed the 180 and a new gasket. thanks for the instructions.
  12. it runs dangerously hot. above the red:( to flush what should i do? can i leave everything bolted up? i would take it to a shop and have it flushed, but money is tight this time of year. can you describe those weep holes
  13. i've used restore also. i did notice less oil consumption. as for compression, i couldn't tell you.
  14. hence the vroom, hiss. right on. i want to eventually do a turbo conversion for my ea82.
  15. i've got another one for yous. the outer edge of my radiator is hot and so is the intake hose from the engine on the pass. side. the coils in the radiator are not getting hot at all nor is the outlet tube. could this possibly be a problem with the water pump or is this just a plugged radiator? what are some things i should check with the water pump?
  16. let me tell you know, the wait is well worth it. i drove the STi and took turns with my buddy who works at the stealership. amazing ride. i just loved pullin fat drifts all around town. the speedo will max out quite easily:slobber:
  17. i'm going to go buy a new clutch kit today and i have a few questions for the addicts out there(mostly all of us). i was wondering if there is a better clutch that i can put in my 5spdD/R that will bolt directly on, or with little modding, to my ea82. maybe one for an XT6, SVX, WRX STi? what parts usually come with a clutch kit? This way i'll know what to look for. also, does anybody know of a write up that would tell me how to swap my clutch? i'm going to start wrenching probably tomorrow.
  18. real quick, where is the PCV and what does it look like? thanks guys
  19. thanks anyways, but i've already got it in my faves. i was wondering more what width and diameter would be well suited for my ea82spfi to do some wheeling in.
  20. i never realized how much worse the rust is over in your neck of the woods. it must be the saltwater and the moisture in the air. that's one advantage of living in drought conditions.
