September 20, 200421 yr Yup, just cant keep the subaru's from hittin things. This was done yesterday on a road trip with a couple of the LegacyCentral.org guys. We took highway 128 from Fairfield to Vaccaville, and its a great road with windy S curves up and down the rolling hillside. I aproached a turn too fast, and as soon as the understeer set in, i locked all 4 and slid into the guardrail. Luckily there was a guardrail, cause the tree's sure wouldnt have been so kind. Damage to front and rear is apparent, doesnt cause any drivability problems, but definatly makes the car even more Uglier than it was before. Now im looking for a LS/LSi wagon to do a EJ22T swap -Brian
September 20, 200421 yr ahh... that will buff right out. I've got a better plan for the car tho, how about you sell it to me real cheap... my RX sure could use a EJ22T:grin: Gary
September 20, 200421 yr Now im looking for a LS/LSi wagon to do a EJ22T swap Have you looked into this much? I am thinking the same for my 96 obw. Besides engine and computer anything else I would need??
September 20, 200421 yr hmm.. my wife claims that the front yard cement statue thngh that she somehow hit was "stoned" and it walked in front of her.. hmm i have a ard timme not smirking when she tells it btw junkie.. a fender is nothing.. it really could have gotten worse quick
September 20, 200421 yr That's just about as good as you could hope for (if your going to hope for a accident). It could have been much worse. That will be easy to get rid of! Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
September 20, 200421 yr Understeer? Why didn't you go for power on oversteer...at least then you could have smashed the rear.
September 21, 200421 yr Author Oh, i got the rear too... it could have been FAR worse. Expecially the area we were in. If it werent for the guard rail, my car would be totalled, and i'd be in worse condition than i am. From what i hear, the swap is pretty straight forward for any 90-94 Subaru. a 96 will have the OBD2 and will give you more hassle. Gary, make me an offer I cant refuse, and she's yours. I just spent $1200 to have a centerforce clutch installed 4 months ago when i bought the car.... so if anyone takes it from me, i at least want my $1200 back. Its probably not worth it anymore, which is why Im looking for a Wagon. -Brian
September 21, 200421 yr Damn CRX's are always in the way! betcha don't know which racing game had that curse bestowed on it
September 21, 200421 yr aw brian, not again. maybe you shoulda put your brush guard on this one:rolleyes: -mike

September 21, 200421 yr I was thinking that Mike Actually thought about PM'n Tony to give him some idea's. Jason, are you talking about NFS SE? -Brian Close! the Original NFS on the Original original Playstation (the one that took 2 mins or more to load anything at all for a game)
September 21, 200421 yr Somehow reminds me of what coulda happened at WCSS6 on the way to wal mart I agree that guard rails, dispite the damage they cause are good. I've gotten close but never hit one yet (knocking on desk)
September 21, 200421 yr aw brian, not again. maybe you shoulda put your brush guard on this one:rolleyes: -mike LOL glad I'm no t the only one that thought that!
September 22, 200421 yr Author Yes Mike, alot like that turn in Hood River. But that wall wouldnt have been as nice. I found a replacement Legacy today. Just gotta figure out if I can get my EJ22T into it. -Brian
September 22, 200421 yr Isn't there are Car Protective Angecy around somewhere? If so, this needs to be reported so that they can take this car away from it's abusive driver.
September 22, 200421 yr You gonna try to transfer the manual seatbelts to the new legacy??? You would then REALLY have a one of a kind car.
September 23, 200421 yr Author Good idea Mike, now I will make it a point to do so. Corky, im sorry I didnt mean to. The car wasnt a gem to begin with. It will be sure to live on in a more beautiful body. As a matter of fact, I could use some information out of your FSM library if you wouldnt mind sharing. -Brian
