Differences between Loyale 1.3 and 1.8 engines?

Featured Replies

What are the differences between the 1.3 and 1.8 liter boxer engines?

Could it be possible to use 1.8T parts for turboing 1.3?

aside from compressiont ratio issues

your next problem would be getting fuel into the system

if you did use a 1.8 turbo injection system and computer i would almost bet that the car would run way rich all the

but there is always the do it yerself programmable fuel injection system that i run :) good enough for a 1 cyl lawnmower all the way up to.. welll anything really

pretty cheap to build to i mean i was able to afford it

He's in Finland, so he's got different stuff than us, but still the smallest EA Subaru engine I know of is a 1.4 and I don't know the code for that...

I meant the mechanical differences, like rods, pistons etc..:)

dont forget the EA52 that was a 1.0 Litre...

Doubt youll find much info here. We dont have those engines in the US and nobody to my knowledge has ever posted about them before.

How about contacting a dealership. A lot of times they will let you look at the parts books and you can see for yourself how its all different. Atleast a good parts guy would spend some time with you and talk about differences he can see.

Honestly tho a 1.3? It's motor swap time to go 1.8!

Hi bajavwnsoobnut :) I don't actually have the 1.3 liter engine right now, but I was going to get one and rebuild it with the 1.8 turbo parts, because my cousin has one spare EA82T without rods, pistons and crank

The amount of time, money and work into making a 1.3 turbo ya might as well swap in something bigger and have more power to start with ;)

ok was just wondering but do you have any info on the ea-65 then if it is that beast? cause of I can't find much information out there on the internet about this motor and being that it was a fluke to have it here is making it crazy for me to find any info on it

YEah but his 1.3 probably puts out as much HP as our 1.8.. we started getting bigger motors to make up the power lost due to emissions, etc..

And the 1100 and 1300.. EA61 and EA62, 1400 was EA63

yeah defanately if it is a EA-65 cause it is a kick in the pants driving it cause of it having almost as much HP as the ea-71

I seriously doubt that 1.3 puts out the power an EFI 1.8 puts out. The key words there are 'think' and 'almost as much' when comparing.

How about some real numbers?

Which model was available in USA with the EA65 (1.3L) engine? ... The Hatchback?

The LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) also certain Asian and European Markets,

received the EA65 even on the Third gen Leone Sedan, on basic models.

Kind Regards.

Yep! ... I Know, but I believe that the last Hatchbacks were sold in New York state in 1990, and those came with EA71 as far as I know, but maybe some of those went there with EA65 ... I was curious to know in which Subaru models, USA got the EA65 engine available.

Do you know?

Kind Regards.
