Here's a weird one. Seems to be a clone of our board.

I read through the post about offroad tires on that board.. It starts off referring to the tires on Qman's Brat.. hmm.. how many of us are on that board aswell, I wonder.

 

I see mudrat participates as "simon" over there.

It is an exact copy of some of our posts, with different names. I think we need to nuke them somehow.

Ok.. I retract what I said about mudrat participating as simon.. the sig threw me.. I noticed that simon posted later with what appears to be Jareds sig

 

On the offroad tire post, it has a post that is an exact copy of the offroad tire rating thing.. I think it was Zap that posted it here?

 

Anyway.. they are directly copying posts from here without giving credit to the original poster or board.. that is kind of irritating

 

I see posts from Zap, Junkie, Jared, JCDenton.. don't know how many others have been straight copied over

I think it is strange why they would do that. Why don't they just join our board???? Why waste time/effort copying???

That is extremely weird, it looks like a site that's trying to make it look like they have forums for every type of car. Which the way they chose to populate their boards is a silly way to do it. Maybe shawnw should e-mail them?

That's not a good way to get a board going. Is there a legal issue there?

 

It's like the Seinfeld episode where there are three guys that are very similar to Jerry, George and Kramer but different and boring.

There's definate lagal issues with that - it's absurd. But unfortunately, they are probably in some other country.... someone want to do a traceroute on their IP? But why don't we just sign up for their board, and flood it with useless, horrible posts about how they stole our posts? With links in every post to the real board?

Cool. I sent the admin an email saying the posts were all someone elses property, so please cease and decist. Guess it worked. The site's main page now says "this site has been closed by the owner. Sorry for the incovenience caused."
