Dually rear wheels....now that's gotta be a first? Would love to see that.

I'll take a combo of what everyone said, put it in a blender and should have an awesome rig. But for me it will just be my "Project Cheap" since I don't have the cash to even think about half that stuff.

euu i already have plans for my "ultimate subaru"

some hatch

10inch lift

31inch super swamper boggers :)

15x8 rock crawler bead locks

divorced t-case

home made bumpers

not sure on the engine yet

snorkle

almost amphibious

2 1/2 inch straight pipe with a glass pack

twin batterys

about 5 pairs of kc's :)

kick rump roast stereo

custom body work made by nature

on board air

on board welder

8,000 pound winch on reciever bracket

some other stuff to

(i'm actually gona build this :)) along with my lifted golf cart, racing lawn mower. and other smaller hatch:lol:

i have been thinking, and i think i like these couple items to be upgraded

first of all

14inch lift

33/14/16 inch super swamper boggers :)

16x8 rock crawler steels

attachment.php?attachmentid=2291

TCat's old wagon?? That's hardly anything special....still sweet

just noticed, you're from woodbury....are you the person who bought it?!

I could sware I saw a car there! :slobber: awe it's just a pile of leaves in the middle of the plaine,, sure did look like a car.. I guess it was those old wheels sitting in the pile that through me off..

Thats awesome,, more info on your camo job please!

hmmmmmm im not too sure if i'd want an ea82 body or a gen one lego.

ej22t w/ some freaking BOOST:burnout:

a beefy 5speed DR

4" lift with some 15 " alloys or other bling rims

plates running from the 3" headers all the way back to the rear rockers

no cats

touring wagon roof - leaning towards a gen one lego GT -

rack with basket and lights

light bar with more lights

solid i beam front and rear bumpers

fart can exaust

LSD

what i really want is a hatch window that will receed into the hatch

cruise control

and other fun stuff like 5 pt restraint seats a roll cage a short throw

My Ultimate,

Hatchback

3.0 H6

T-5 RWD transmission

Atlas T-case 4:1 or higher low range,

Unimog or C-303 Portal Axles, possibly even Hummer axles, Lockers of course, with the Cybrid H-6 steering pump

38-44 inch Swampers

And of course all the fun little additions that make life worth while, winch, welter, on board air.

With all that weight, i would certainly think that the Hatch would need serious reinforcement structurally, as well as for safety.

Yeah, i know, its not much of a Subie anymore, but putting the H-6 through an old D/R tranny, and then trying to turn some serious tires, you are the weakest link good bye.

For the purpose of this project, what is the definition of a "Subaru?"

And what is the intended purpose of this offroad "Subaru?" Is it to be a rock crawling buggy? Desert racer? Multipurpose trail rig / daily driver? Heavy expedition vehicle or light weight?

First thing your gonna upgrade is your career to afford all that.

Skip the stupid golf cart and lawn mower; youll get done with the uber'ru much faster.

Be sure to post some pics when you get done

well ide start with a good platform...rules out subaru:), its fun messing around with my stock subaru, but i have zero desire to make it into an off roading machine.. but hey have fun with them.

they are fun yes, they are cheap yes. and the fact your out to prove they can go off road is cool.

well they sure aint street machines either. oddball in the middle.

i always enjoy off roading in my sube.i also like being the underdawg and showing those junk jeeps who`s boss.

Silly idea of the day.

Two wheeled, SuperSwampered, Subaru powered, Segway style, offroad scooter.

ya, im the one who bought it, iv got a few things planned for it to make it "better" but nothing horrible special. ya, im in woodbury, and for weekends i am 30-45 mins east in hammond WI.

sweet watch the meet/greet forum for an off road event the weekend after thanksgiving....we need more subies to show up

also.... join http://www.mnsubaruclub.com

The next car I'm looking to build will be/have;

86 gl-10 twagon

6" SJR lift

9:5-1 ea82t/maybe ej22t

F/R LSD

4.44 gearing

29"x9.5 tsl's, maybe some other tires :/

with a nice roof rack for the spare and stuff too.

I want more of a go-anywhere-and-never-get-stuck off-roader, rather than a die-hard serious rock crawler... But anyway, here it goes:

My '95 Impreza L with the 2.5 motor already in it

AA 4" body lift kit

Outback struts

Scorpion springs

Some infamous super-swampers (wheels, undecided...)

Upgraded bushings and mounts all around (already have a few of those)

Baja XT 4.44 VTD 4EAT modified with a front LSD along with the rear LSD

Upgraded torque converter

Tranny oil cooler

Full under-body armor

Roll cage

Custom snorkel of course

Exhaust routed to a higher point on the car (for water)

Sealed chassis (water, there are a few holes that need plugging)

Water-protected battery and other engine area components

Gutted interior w/ rubber mats (for cleaning ;) )

Roof mounted spare tire

Extra luggage rack on the trunk

Extra fuel cans located in the trunk I guess...

What else am I missing?
