Addicted to bright (die dial up)

Recommended Posts

Hi, my name is Matt and I have a problem.

I am addicted to bright lights.

Its been getting worse, they are never bright enough.

I started off with this..

They were dim and yellow, so I put some H4s in there.

Then Fatz's mighty L sedan donated some Hella 181s

Got a little brighter, not enough, not by a long way.

A pilgrimage to Rising Sun in Adelaide saw me upgrade to some good copies of Cibie Oscar spots,

Starting to get somewhere now. Those suckers are good, but there was still dark areas.

So... I scored a set of PIAAs for $70 on ebay, then another set for $62.50 aaaaaagh then I knew,, I am sick!

I put a set on and they did the job, no doubt.

Bright blinding white filled all the gaps down low and wide.

But... how long were they going to last mounted here???

Not very long with the amount of wildlife around here!

SO, This weekend I rebuild a set of old Cibie Oscars (original spreads) and mounted them in front of the inner factory lights, slightly behind the spots and evenly spaced accross the front ( ala WRC cars).

Have I gone too far??

Thanks guys, its been a 3 year labour of love.

Sooo much fun,

But if I read it right, you guys are actualy encouraging me to put more lights on!

Bloody hell, its like getting Alcaholic Anonomous advice at a liquor store.

I am unsure of how I will go keeping the T tops operational and still getting a strong mounting for a light bar, Anyone got one set up I can look at.

I have 4 PIAAs (3 spots and a spread)...I may as well put a whole kilowatt of light out there!!

High roll bar. That would leave room for seats in the back and not interfere with t-tops

Looks very nice how it is though.:)

only thing that could make it better.....is more lights!!!!

Don't mount them ON the roof, but more like behind it, on the/a roll bar (I can't tell if you have one already or not). Then it'll be far enough that it won't light up your hood or windsheild. And if it gets bad on the t-tops, a strip of tape across the bottom will virtually completely eliminate that.

Wilmington North Carolina is a bloody nice spot as well Mate.

Not too far from the Outer Banks for when the king fish are running.

Lovely beach driving to be done down there.

Tassie is a beautiful spot no doubt.

I love it here, the relaxed pace suits me

(much more than North Carolina did!)
