March 9, 200917 yr Too much down travel is gonna break a lot of axles. . . I dig the lifted sedan though.
March 10, 200917 yr whats your drop from stock at the rear of the diff? and at the rear swing mount tube ?, I really like that long shock youve created, I like the sedan, I wouldnt bob it , just paint it bright Yellow Edited March 10, 200917 yr by Scott in Bellingham detail
March 10, 200917 yr The rear diff and the rear subframe are both equally lifted 4", I built blocks to lift everything the same amount. -Bill

March 18, 200917 yr Here's one version:http://offroadingsubarus.com/6stud_conversion.html thanks, and dam thats easy!
March 28, 200917 yr Author Well its official, after playing in all the snow we got yesterday i managed to blow the timing belt. Ill tear into her tomorrow. I hope i didnt damage anything from the belt breaking. I also discovered that my dist is worn out. Pics to come. Orion
March 31, 200917 yr If it's an EA82 you didn't hurt a damn thing by breaking the belt. As a matter of fact, any engine prior to 1997 (and even some early 1997 models) was non-interference. So you, my friend, are GOLDEN!!!
April 1, 200917 yr Hey man, your blocks are in the mail and on the way! Oh, and your engine is fine, EA82 motors are non interference so if you lose a belt its no big deal. -Bill

So you, my friend, are GOLDEN!!! Not quite so cuty a dry. all EA82 are non interference. So are all EJ18, and all the early EJ22, non-interference However ALL DOHC motor(2.5) are interference.
April 2, 200916 yr Author Hi Bill I got the parts, looke great and marking the tops of the block and which way they go make life very simple. Thanks and ill get your parts in the mail. O
April 7, 200916 yr Author I test fitted 32's on a 5" lift, i need to trim the fenders and firewall a little more. The Sedamn is also going to get a fresh coat of HAMMERED Black spray paint. Ill get some pics up soon. Im still trying to track down an 1100cc+ liquid cooled shaft mototcycle engine.

So are all EJ18, and all the early EJ22, non-interference However ALL DOHC motor(2.5) are interference. also, ea81 is an interference engine (assuming ea71 is as well) , but since you're running a timing gear you don't have to worry about belts breaking.... But rarely, you can have a gear break, and you'll bent the push rods... ask Subiemech85
April 11, 200916 yr Author Timing belt changed(with some help from Bill). So i decided to test fit the 32's. I also swaped out the rear combination coils for a combination of Sedan Coils and Wagon coils and i got a 5" strut block from Bill. Its sitting pretty level now.
April 18, 200916 yr theres something about coupes/sedans that are lifted that is just so awesome. The reverse is also true, lowered wagons look awesome too. man nice , I love the sedans, Ive only seen a HANDFULL. good to see another:), post that baby on the 09 lifted thread http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=97227

I wanted one because there weren't too many of them. I can't wait to see that thing with 32's on it!!
April 30, 200916 yr Dude, I just saw your ride in Lafayette today. I was riding the sweet black old BMW. It looks pretty cool but I noticed your camber is WAY off. You should get that fixed before you wreck your tires. Those wheels look sweet!
May 1, 200916 yr The camber is off because he wanted a little bit extra lift on the front struts, so it has 4" lift blocks on the engine crossmember and 5" on the struts, which will create possitive camber. -Bill
May 1, 200916 yr Author If I was going to keep the Sedamn as a DD I would fix the camber. Once I drop a motorcycle engine and trans under the hood I wont drive it nearly as much so im not to concerned with the camber. Not only that my 5 min commute is going to turn to an hour at the end of this month....either that or im unemployed. Were you in a diesel BMW?
May 1, 200916 yr No I was riding a black BMW motorcycle. '71. It was on the corner of Public and South Boulder.
May 2, 200916 yr Author DUDE I saw you!!!!!!!! I was thinking to myself "ive never seen an engine case that looked that like. Pretty cool.....and small world. Why is the case shaped like that? Whats in the upper portion? And it even has an H pipe.
