Nip, thats looking really good. Glad you posted some pics of it!

Thanks :)

Now I have to figure out how to run all the gauge wires

Also poking around under the car I found out I dont need to go to the other evil place (mien-money). The engine flex pipe is solid so all I have to do is snap off the bolts and then life is easy :)

My 1 owner 79 Subaru Brat that had been on mothballs for severals years got fired up as I began a restoration project on it. unfortunately had some mice problems on the interior so pretty much had to strip it down to disinfect it. I have one dead cylinder that I am having to investigate. Appears to be a valve problem. My boys have finally taken an interest in the project so I will be moving along. I am new to this forum and will be looking for some sources of parts as I begin the process.

I took some better photos of my new ride height and I installed some better front seats out of a GL 3 door (didn't take pics of that)

Now off to measuring and looking for a radiator that will squeeze in there..:)

I put my deck in... and started preparing the dash for the head unit and LCD. i'm thinking LCD right where the factory deck goes.

Here's what i'm thinking:

Outsource:

Need 1 tire

Call a pull a dent place to have the dents removed.

Scary noise:

Tick at front of transmission which could be the pilot bearing (remove engine), Transmission input bearing (remove engine), or the powder in the electric clutch just lumped together from sitting. That noise wasnt there when i bought the car so i am going with the last one.

i was terrified that the car was almost done, but seeing it all listed here it is about 50% of the way there

Tortured it on a 1000 mile drive, with a baja excursion in the middle.

Unfortunately I think I toasted my right front cv axle, as my boot failed and I

think I got some sand in there...

And it has play in the shaft when sitting still.

So since I know the bearings inside are shot, do I just take a grinder and hack

off the axle at inner cup and call it good, or do I pull the axle, hope its

rebuildable and find myself just an outer cv cup?

Decisions, decisions...

Edit: Good job nipper!

Looks like you're gonna have your redheaded stepchild playing with the rest

of the children in no time ;)

PS: I am BROKE, so that's why I'm considering these options

i suck at painting, i really do. The Justy's tailgate (lower half) is painted. It does almost match the rest of that paint (being anal I can see it but doubt anyone else can). The clearcoat I have no Idea if that is right. It is not smooth to the touch, but is no worse then the rest of the car. i am hoping this polishes out as they said let it rest for three days.

Now i am afraid to touch the orange peel on the roof.

i just adjusted the float level and now it doesnt run lean YAY! weber swap is done. now if i can just fix that damn exhaust leak.....

fixed the exhaust leak. now i just need to fix my power steering mount or get another one. it cracked so my pump pulley would rock forward into the radiator fan. clickclickclickclickclickclickclick. so as of right now no power steering.

My '84 EA81 wagon passed it's first annual test (I imported it from Germany) and it only needed a new head lamp bulb (checked it the night before but hey) and bearing clearance on left front adjusted. Other than that is sailed through with only remarks regarding some minor rust - which will be taken care of in a month or so.

My two kids (just turned 3 and almost 2) love the wagon above my current 98 Legacy, but I'm sure that will change when my wife brings home er new 2010 Legacy Wagon tomorrow...

Outer tie rod ends, ordering rear rotors (calipers stuck)

Anyway i tried to fix mine today but ended up breaking it. Nothing a quick trip to the parts store didnt fix but i ran out of time to fix it. Now it sits, torn apart in the parking lot not going anywhere for a while.
