  2. No the aluminum channel is only 2" wide. It's long enough to span the width plus a bit. The idea is just to touch any high spot, or stuck crud. I don't try to remove a lot of material. Make sure you hit all areas evenly. The ones I have done have not been bad. The headgasket seals against the steel cylinder wall, as opposed ro the aluminum on the head side, so there should be less imprint.

  3. thank you ..i just like the coolness of a stock duel carb set up on my Thrasher...my dream would be to find two ,stock ,off the shelf Hitachi carbs.I know ,i'm a dreamer....but it could happen...i saw a few years ago on ebay but had no play money for them..two webers would take away the stockness and a lot of work just to get them to work right......so .....Thank you for your thoughts ..you guys stay safe a take care in these CRAZY DAYS

  4. Some people does the Twin Weber conversion, not only in EA series but in EJ series too, maybe because the goal is the achievement to build it, maybe for the looks... some others in order to avoid the wiring and ECU swap on the famous "EJ it" retrofitting... ...I agree with GD, that a well tuned 32/36 or a 38/38 DGAS Weber carburetor, will permorm the same, with less effort and better simplicity; but if you want to do so, go ahead and do it; because I know that other of the reasons to do such a swap, is for having fun working with tools on your car; as automotive mechanics also are a nice Hobby to have... Kind Regards.

  5. I just fixed my WRX's shifter for the same issue. You either need a new trunnion/shift u-joint, or new bushings in it. I put poly bushings in mine from TIC (Turn-In Concepts). I also upgraded the support rod front and rear bushings with Prothane parts. And I Upgraded the shift handle bushings. Found a youtube video that helped and had a thread here with suggestions from others. It was a fiddly process but I am glad I did it.

  6. Exhaust is virtually identical between the two. Same header on both cars. GD

  7. Why? The only benefit to multiple carbs is to use multiple, small diameter barrels. This effectively increases throttle response without the detrimental effects of single large barrels and their associated loss of vacuum signal. You can get basically the same effect from a progressive or a synchronous twin barrel carb like the 32/36 DGV, or the 38/38 DGS. The 38 DGES is essentially two 38mm singles if you use the synchronous linkage. And you can get them brand new. GD

  8. Calling all XT6 owners. Trying to gauge interest I’ve got a close friend of mine talking with a few vendors at the moment and custom clear front markers for the XT6. If he can get 10 orders the price would be about $80. I’m not a vendor myself and wouldn’t be handling the finances, I would have that individual add themselves register etc. just let me know what you guys think!

  9. I use a thick 4" putty knife (with a flat edge) (not sharp like a knife) to scrape the surface and stay as flat as possible on the surface. The most important thing is a flat surface. If the surface is flat with a straight edge now, and you work at those "stains" you will end up making depressions in the surface. Previously, if there were depressions in the surface, the gasket or sealer filled them. So, if those "stains" are not protruding from the surface and it is flat, you're good to go.

  12. You can run the solid lifter push-rods, so long as you run solid lifters. DO NOT mix and match.
