GL-10 Blower Switch 1 not working
Pretty straight forward; once you locate the part, it's less than 5 minutes to remove it and re-install it. I hate to disagree with GD but here in Washington, the failure rate on used ones is pretty high. I used to scrounge Pull a Part for these and found 9 out of 10 were bad....but then again, you're looking at parts found in 20 year old cars or more. If you find a '90's Loyale you might have better success finding a good one. Good luck.

Next PRG rallycross info: 9/24 at ORV park
Fresh off a successful RallyCross at the Straddleline ORV Park, Pacific Rally Group is putting on another event on Sunday, September 24th, 2006. This event will run on the same schedule as the last RallyCross (see below). We had a good turnout for the last event and we would like to improve on that for this event. Please pass this along to anyone that you think would be interested in competing. I hope to have a flier by friday evening for anyone to print and distribute to any groups that you think will be interested. This will be posted to www.PacificRallyGroup.com when ready. Schedule: Tech Inspection and Registration: 8am-9am Driver's Meeting: 9:15am First Car Out: 9:30am Cost: $30 for all entrants (includes admission to the ORV park) After tech inspection, please go to registration to obtain your timecard. There is only one session scheduled for this event. Worker positions will be assigned at the driver's meeting and the entire group will be split into run/work groups at that time. After the parade lap, those working first will go to their worker assignments. Those running first will put their cars into the grid to prepare for their first run. An alternate format may be used depending on turnout. Helmets are required (Snell 95 and newer rating). Loaner helmets will be available at the event but in limited supply. If you're unsure about what class your car will run in, please read this: http://scca.org/_FileLibrary/File/20...CrossRules.pdf Spectators: The ORV park charges $10 per car for anyone entering the park. If you're interested in spectating, try to carpool to minimize costs. If you knowsomeone competing, ride along with them. There is a concession stand on-site so please bring cash for lunch. Links: Directions to ORV park Pacific Rally Group website 2006 SCCA RallyCross rules (PDF) Please pass along this information to anyone else that you think would be interested in rally-x in the western WA area. GL-10 Blower Switch 1 not working
Replace the resistor block that controls the speed of the blower. Easy fix, pricey part.

Rallycross/Rally information from ORG
Whoopee! Posted before I got home from Hillsboro last night! Way to go. Turnout was a bit low for ORG so that resulted in 5 runs each and a fair amount of fun runs. Great course with "restrained" use of the water truck. Good organization and ran on schedule all day. If you weren't there you missed a fine event.

Emissions failure? PASSED!@!!!!!!! WOOT
edrach replied to xoomer's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIsn't the default condition for a bad MAF to run rich? Would that also meet the other indications from his test?

ej18 q's
edrach replied to offroadsubaruguy's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXOBDII didn't happen until '96. That being what it is, the EJ18 is not gutless. I have a '94 sedan that I use entirely for rallycross and backup car for when my daily driver is not available. The car originally came with low profile 16" tires and it was a stone....just what I wanted in a rallycross car! Anyway, when I switched back to 14" wheels and tires the car suddenly had lots of go. Night and day difference with only slightly smaller tires. In my rallycross class I run against 2.2's and 2.5's all the time and I beat most of them. I have a 2.2 engine I was planning on rebuilding and installing this winter, but am really ambivalent since the EJ18 is so strong. I notice the difference in low end torque, but once you're in the power band the car really goes. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=856

Fix hanging sun visor....
edrach replied to ericem's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXBest option is to find a used one that works. I've never been able to fix them. I've got a few for $10 plus shipping; what model, which side, and which color is it?

Wild West Rally Update
Apparently a final, firm date for Wild West; also it is now a National rather than Divisional event. Check out the latest news release at the Rally America site: http://www.rally-america.com/story.php?article=149

What tool to remove pin in axle
edrach replied to dacecil's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXOlder EA81 and EA82 all used 36mm castle nut; EJ22 are all 32mm if I remember correctly. 3/16" is the correct size for the drift to knock out the pin; knock the pin out from the non-bevelled hole and in from the bevelled hole; when you re-install remember that there are 23 splines so line up the splines properly---if you are 1/2 revolution off, the holes in the DOJ and stub axle won't line up and you'll jam the roll pin trying.

3.7 LSD question
Don't tell anybody, but it you can get any more of those sockets at that price, I'll buy it!! I think the SnapOn version was 34 bucks.

3.7 LSD question
It's a Snap-on tool for $34US or thereabouts. Dr. RX might have a part number for it.

Emissions failure? PASSED!@!!!!!!! WOOT
edrach replied to xoomer's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXAn if you buy a PCV valve, get an OEM one from the dealer; after-market valves seem to be a problem.

Emissions failure? PASSED!@!!!!!!! WOOT
edrach replied to xoomer's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNapa isn't the only one with NGK plugs. B&B and G.I. Joe's carry NGK's. Denso's should be okay for a while but next time get NGK's.

Emissions failure? PASSED!@!!!!!!! WOOT
edrach replied to xoomer's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXGo to any emissions place and give them the License plate number and $5 and they'll print out the last emissions test that was done for you. If more than two years ago don't waste your time/money and take it to the emissions guru located next to the emissions place on 6th Ave. S; he'll check it for you and if it's okay he usually doesn't charge anything; if it's not, he charges $40 plus tax to get it passed. If he can't get it to pass he'll usually tell you what your car needs. By the way, your car DOES have a PCV valve. Also, replace the air filter while you're at it; it's probably dirty if it hasn't been done in a long time.

3.7 LSD question
Diff stubs are held in place with an E10 type bolt; you need a special thin wall socket to install and/or remove it. Odd it should just come loose and fall out; they're usually a bear to remove.

Car show in Oregon
Columbia County Fairgrounds (from ORG yahoo Board): This is Cara Holem, I am in a community 101 class which helps out the community by giving to non-profit organzations by raising money. One of our fundraisers is a Car Show at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. I would like to know if anyone is intrested in bringing out their rally cars or other cars. It would be at the end of next month and the money raised will go to a middle school drug and alcohol education program. To enter the car show will be $15.00 and it goes to a good cause! There will also be food and entertainment. If we can get enough rally cars, we will be in our own class. There will also be awards handed out. Anyone who is intrested let me know! Cara Holem

The bloody DOL is retarded
What did he do to tick them off? I've never seen anyone rejected for a mechanical or electrical problem that wasn't related to emissions. This is too weird; and why should he wait until the 27th; just take it in tomorrow (or is he out of state?).

Pics from yesterday's PRG rallycross
The track is waiting. There's another one next weekend in Hillsboro, OR and one the following weekend at the ORV park (just a quick 90 minute ride at that hour of the morning). The ORV park is a bit small for my liking, but it's close, has amenities, food, and 5 runs on a typical day. What's not to like?

Rallycross tomorrow Sept. 9 at Straddleline ORV Park--SCORES POSTED!!
Fun event. More cars than last month; if you didn't make it you missed out. The event ran on time and scores were posted tonight at http://www.pacificrallygroup.com/RC090906.html. My only complaint is that the course was too short (common complaint of mine.....I'd like them all to be longer:) ). Anyway, I had a great time.
