mine sold to me at 119,000 miles, it has factory AC and came with topper. Also had jumpseats and all the belts, buckles, covers for them. things to consider on Brat values: rust AC option Topper Still has jumpseat Miles etc etc etc.

Today was a nice day. warmed up to 40. I organized some stuff in the garage, and found a distributor rotor in a box, which i forgot i had. Decided to actually finish the install of the new rebuilt distributor for my BRAT, since the original got donated off to my rescued wagon. Its in, and the BRAT is timed right at 10degrees advance. It was nice to start the thing. I decided to see if i had enough clutch to back it out the garage, NO. Well, now i just need another couple days of warm weather, so i can replace the clutch. Maybe next weekend or sometime yet in February will work for that clutch job. Anyhow, I also installed the sunvisor on my SVX. Drove the white 92 SS for first time in about a month. It has gotten a cracked windshield which is new since i parked it. Guess the freeze thaw freeze thaw did the glass in. Yuck. guess -20 at night and then sun in the day not good.

noticed a crack in the windshield today, was small on the lower right side, well it was small like 2 inch, drove it to town and back and it grew. doh, not happy not happy not happy. must have been due to the extreme freeze thaw cycle we have been getting. not happy.

my 94 does the exact same if its REALLY cold, like 0 or less. does it for about a minute, then its back to normal. sounds really horrid, worse than running fingernails over a chalkboard....... i got used to it, and liv with it. once we get warm temps again, it stays away, and will wait til next winter.

something tells me McBrat's rig will end up in some magazine article.

subaru quality on engine build definitely gone downhill since 1994 doh, not so good. i like the oldies cause i cant afford the newbie subies

yeah rumor says 2003-2005 cleaned up. rumor says 2006-now has rod knock and issues on them ALL, nt HG related tho, but rods and piston issues after 2005. Sti's brand new 2009 have rod knock, not good. well good if you are me and have a few ej22ts bullet proof blocks... but yeah very much a discussion topic worthwhile. in my honest opinion, after year 1994 most subaru engines are very questionable in build quality. ej22 genre, the 90 tp 94 ej22 was excellent, the 91-94 ej22t closed deck is bullet proof, the 95 and 96 ej22 non interferance is good, then the ej25 comes about and FAIL big fail. then the ej20 in the wrx pretty good. now, who knows. ramble but ftw the ej22t is the best ever still.

Would anyone be interested in helping me getting started on the clutch job for the BRAT. Who has interest? I have Saturdays and Sundays available. If this was on my legacy, i would already have it done...I can pull an engine out of one of those in an hour. Basically, I will go borrow my dads cherry picker, or his tranny jack, and start on this on a warmer day.....preparing for some warm weather sometime in Feb. I can get ALL the tools needed, just need a helping hand...thanks of course, i can provide any needed beverages, food, small town entertainment. We don't have to finish it all up, but i would at least like to get the thing separated to the point i can pull off the flywheel if it needs resurfaced. If it looks like the flywheel is okay, then maybe start to put back together (if the clutch kit i have is the right one) bh

ecky ecky ecky.what brand plug wire, and sparkplugs did you use? hopefully NGK and subaru's oem wires, not some aftermarket garbage. .also, is it a K&N filter, the oil on them messes up the MAF terribly so.

its a blue bomber loyale wagon, has first gear only. seems to not really want to be crushed. it keeps floating around with Ben.

my 85 pushbar has a mount plate on it for a winch. I will someday put one on it,but need to get the clutch replaced b4 anything else goes on.

i think he means the air jiggle pin was placed down, not up. that allows air to escape under high pressure, to avoid high pressure in the engine coolant. air bubbles travel upward, thus the jggle pin needs to be up...

maybe someone will melt that block down and make some more lift kits.

FOD is bad,

this is an 08 with 12,000 miles? I say this is subaru assembly problem at the engine factory. Was there any previous work to engine/transmission? my gosh, is subaru quality putting this stuff on the road? doesn't sound like subaru of yesteryear.
