How about you get a video of it. I would like to hear the ER27 with a flowmaster exhaust.

I do not have access to the EA82 5 speed and I will just have this transmission lying around after 86BRATMAN buys the motor. The bottom line is I am content with the 4 speed.

bump.

You bought an EA82T, that is a completely different motor than the carb'd EA81 that came with the Brat. The EA81 is a great motor and you should stick to it. The EA82T WILL blow head gaskets on you. Hopefully the 5 speed is dual range, those will require some modification to work but they are worth it.

I did it the third day with my Brat. Luckily I just broke the tail light and didn't hit the side of the bed.

I thought about checking out the things that LuK automotive makes as I work for the the Schaeffler Group warehouse. I realized that the XT6 clutch would not work being that it is an EA81 when I did some searching last night. I am getting pretty bad shutter when I let out on the clutch has it is, did an OEM cable and that helped a bit but I think it is about time. Anyone have any favorite brands and tips for installation/removal?

A buddy and I will be pulling the motor and tranny come this summer. The transmission from my 65K white brat will be going in with it as well as the linkage from it as well (very tight). I will be putting a new clutch in while it is out and was wanting some advice on which is a good one to go with. I also heard it is a good idea to have flywheel turned while out.

I am willing to bet that if it didn't have the drain plug, you would be telling us why it needs one.

Electrical gremlins.... voltage related

Sounds like your standard bad/worn out alternator. -
How about you get some pictures, I can't seem to get enough EA81T.

I'll take my t-tops over the bed covers anyday.

So I Think I Need A Water Pump-Fixed
Durania replied to Durania's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The GMB one was all that was in stock that day at autozone. I added it up and it was cheaper to fix Brat with that water pump than it would have been to fill the Legacy back up with gas. I have drove it about 50 miles since installed and it has yet to get above the notch on the heat hand. If the GMB one had said "Made in Mexico" on it, and not Japan. Things might have been a little bit different about me getting that one from the autozone. -
I hope you know how hard it is for me to look at them pictures. Hope you got more than that?

The one I pulled off is an exact match for the one I put on. GMB made in Japan. I pulled alternator to give myself some room. Subaru could have picked better bolts than those to hold the water pump on. Looked like they would do a better job at holding a table together but, if it works. Used black RTV and waited an hour. Took it to town with highway and city driving, it didn't get above the notch and had great heat, even though it was 66 degrees. Thanks for the helps guys. Next week something else will break. -

It has never sat there is why I was posting. It has always been at that little notch. -
no tail lights or dash lights

He's 100% right. You will be surprised at all the things that can be solved by getting a new alternator. -
is this car salvageable?

I am kinda worried about that power steering unit. The fluid those things take is liquid gold. $500 is about all I would give. Truly depends on what it looks like underneath. Connie's didn't look nowhere near as bad as this one and she started parting hers' out. -
No I sure wouldn't. :-p
