  1. I'd be smiling too. That is one crazy sedan.
  2. I got to thinking earlier about the situation that he will be missing this board now especially with all the old stuff he has. I also remembered the whole "Guru VS The Bush" fiasco of 2007.
  3. Yes that does suck, I was about to take them pictures of a step and fake step for a brat and sell it to him. Wonder what happened.
  4. I like it. You don't see too many brown ones.
  5. I am on the Cumberland Plateau. If we wasn't so spread apart, we could get a pretty good group of people together.
  6. I stopped at the Subaru place in Knoxville today when I was coming back through and would see if they had the new STi. The one I go to religiously is smaller and hasn't received it yet. I have never been a fan of Grayson simply because I can't get the guys to talk to me even by going inside. There was a ton of WRX's here and had business cards shoved into the door cracks. Was a nice yellow bug eye on the lot as well. It was raining and figured I would snag a couple of pics while I was there. Connie, there was an Impreza there with a monster roof rack and dwarfed yours. It looked like a shopping cart attached to the roof of this thing.
  7. I never said anything about the engine being harmed in my above post. I stated that the oil the non-disposable filters are coated with end up collecting on the MAF wire and causing it to throw a check engine light. I see them as a bandwagon accessory, yeah its great to have the K & N sticker on your back glass, but at the cost of vital electrical components.
  8. Connie, Have you entertained the idea of doing some of your own body work? How does it feel structural wise? I don't think it would be too hard of a fix. Maybe just jacking it up and giving it some work can put off the inevitable for the XT6.
  9. Might want to check some of them clamps you put on. Might have put one on too tight and caused it to rip a hole in the line.
  10. Too bad Subaru didn't bring the BRAT back like that and gave it an EJ25T and made it to look like one of them Holdens. Hell, offer it in three trims, BRAT, BRAT XT, BRAT XT STi.
  11. I am willing to bet you have a push button style 4WD and with my understanding of the Loyale is that it utilizes a vacuum actuator to engage the 4WD and that you have inadvertently removed the ability for it to do so. Just to bring the thought to the table. Maybe it is best to determine what you are tightening instead of throwing clamps at the problem. What messed up in the first place?
  12. The one on the left is the Impreza. I looked at the wheels and it is definitely the yaris in the background.
  13. My experience with non-disposable filters is that the oil that is used on them ends up collecting on the MAF wires and causing a CEL and running like garbage. I put an AEM on on my Tacoma and regretted it ever since. Your best option for filtering intake air is just to stick to a paper one.
  14. This is all I got left without going out and taking more pics.
  15. Try and ask more direct questions, I had trouble following your train of thought through your description.
  16. I give everyone with alternator issues the same lecture. Do not put off replacing it. It is not worth putting off and getting stuck on the side of the road, believe me, I've been there. It takes 5 minutes to change an alternator and is a good learning experience.
  17. At least you have something substantial. Winters here consist of drizzle and overcast, I am about ready to move to the damn beach.
  18. Figured I would continue upon an already existing thread instead of creating a new one. I had a dream last night where I went to a guy's house for BRAT parts and walked out back and there sat a perfect red XT6. Guy said I could have it if I could get it running and out of his yard. Pulled the BRAT around back, jumped it off and away I went.
  19. In my case, where and idiot decided to do the "gasket at home" fix, it was. Of course, your case may vary. Have a look at a previous thread of mine for reference. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=81092&highlight=intake+manifold+gasket+failure
  20. I had a violent shaking action when my intake manifold gaskets decided to put in for a transfer. You can feel around the base of the manifold to see if it pulls a vacuum.
  21. That is the motor's identification number, it is it's own separate entity.
  22. We broke 2, 1/2'' sockets. I ended up taking it to a friend of the family that owns a few semi trucks and using his 1 inch drive to break it loose.
