what to check when buying an ea82 wagon
Currently finding rotted fuel pumps in SPFI cars out east here. You guys are a little less humid/less rust I assume. There's plenty more to check but that stands out lately. My '87-89 cars have been great.SPFI is simple and efficient enough. Good luck with it.

Another plea to those waiting for parts from me
Will do Johnny.... Witte has a 6cyl wagon that was once an EA82.It's an ongoing project that he left at his old residence.Hopefully I get him his 5 lug stuff before the car gets to his new crib.

Another plea to those waiting for parts from me
Cold keeps me moving more.No heat....heat bad...chemical heat very bad, used them for hunting....paying for heat for a space that is mostly used as storage is bad......it's a 16' x 40' or so space with 12' ceiling and drafty overhead door.A space heater would take my money and laugh at me.Only time that worked was when I had the band practicing up front and I used plastic/tarps and made an enclosed space that somewhat held heat. That and beer made it bearable. These months are the worst.By the middle of March it'll all be over. Stopped up there tonight.Inside temp was about 38 degrees F. I think my beer that I grabbed was warmer than the room.

Brat project
SPFI Turbo? Did I miss something here? Great Brat, great project. And let's all give Miles a round of applause too kids.....

anyone know this car?
LMAO,you kids up there are too damn much. Y'know,I've got a plow..... Gotta get that thing installed on something before the season is over.I just want to see if I can deal with it on a daily basis and also see if I can make some dough. And so people can laugh at my car.

Building a hot pre 1976
Indeed, very nice work.I'd love to have that ride here in snotty Fairfield county,CT.All your rides sound outstanding. I'm all for this idea.Heck,I've dreamed about this sort of thing plenty of times.I like what Jason has to say. My thoughts, not sure of any of this working perfectly: EA71 or EA81 w/SPFI and D/R 5spd,cut axles, rear disks. I'm sure you'll have something to show soon. As for finding one and having your way with it,so to say,I'm all for it.But if you waste a perfectly good example of say a '75 4WD wagon that could be restored then I'd disagree.Good luck.Personally I want to see a '72-5 coupe lifted and 4WD.Could make the Hatch Patrol nervous and scared,LOL

Another plea to those waiting for parts from me
So,I'm wrapping up the day, putting away tools with one guy and the other guy I work for lately calls.Naturally he needs me to help him tonight for a couple of hours, tomorrow(Todd's Day ) and Saturday.I can't pass up work so I'll be messing with Todd's tranny tonight in my workshop with no heat.Thankfully I've got a little liquid body warmer there. This is a perfect example of my life.I can't wait to get back into a normal routine-40 hours-life after work, that sort of blessed monotony. Thanks everybody for your understanding.Onward!

Building a hot pre 1976
'75 is the first year of 4WD.To find one and ruin it would absolutely keep you off my Christmas card list.....but I'd still like to see what you do to it.The wagon is the only 4WD available up to the Brat. There's a difference in the unibody from a 2wd and 4wd wagon.I've had them side by side('75's) and they are different but you can probably make a conversion with a little effort.I have a complete '75 4WD drivetrain with suspension, not pretty but functional that you can have for a song.Long distance between us though. Feel free to email about 70's cars, parts, info, etc.

Another plea to those waiting for parts from me
Hang tight everyone. I know you guys see me post here and think "that Moose moron is pee pee'ing me around...." Not so.It's zero degrees,I'm in the middle of a thousand things and have 2 kids and a mother inlaw that does not drive,etc,etc,etc..... Todd, you're #1.Tomorrow I put an all out effort to get that thing at least ready to be picked up if not on its way entirely. You're the one guy who hasn't paid entirely and I'm sure you appreciate me getting your tranny out before others.I understand the car us a lump that sits in your way.Very sorry,I'll make it up with a 57k tranny and a sweet price. Kurt, your slider is next after.Witte is immediately after that. This guy deserves a medal. He paid well over a year ago.God bless that guy!!!!....of course his car is many miles away so he's not freaking out. After that it's deals with exchanges from a few guys -Rick,Mark,??a couple others?? Domelight to Northguy....I'll catch up,just like Mudrat had to.Eventually I'll need to set a whole day to just getting stuff done.Right now it's impossible to get a whole day or even a good chunk of time to myself for this shipping crap. Feel free to send a reminder if I didn't mention your name.I don't have my list here so I may have neglected to mention a couple people.Don't sweat it.Hang tight.

Where to get used parts?
Try to join up with us when we finally get to our PA yard run. Who's up for a winter run???? Must be over 25-30 degrees Farenheight for me or the breeze up my skirt makes me catch cold. Faust in Allentown,EZ in Ringgold,Harry's in Hazelton,in that order starting at 9AM....just like we planned. Crazy people line up here. I'm going to be in Philly next weekend to pick up Dennis' dad's hatch.Could do a quickie at Faust, probably not much more on that day though.

EA81 2 square headlight to 4 square headlight swap
I have a radiator support already cut out and ready to set in for a quad light set-up.Make an offer and cover shipping. The rest is easy.Wiring is not a big problem.I also should have the grill for sure and probably the whole set up,headlights and corner markers complete. I'd let the whole deal go super cheap, like $60 plus shipping.Radiator support, grill, headlights in bezels, and corner markers.Provided I still have the whole set up.

I've been suckered....maybe a bit winded
Sorry,I can't help you. bacaruda-I know you're trying to help but I'd really like for folks with the older cars to check that post thoroughly and see what gets posted when I finally dig through and post. It's not the kind of thing where I can take orders.I really didn't see any XT6 parts offhand when I was there. "tailgatewagon" did infact have a post going about just such activity, getting parts cheaper than anyone else and dealer stock at that.Check with him, maybe he can get replacement air suspension so cheap that it'd be worth it.You never know.

how do you define an addiction?

Turbo EA82 idle spastic when cold
Thanks guys! I'll check things out soon.

Turbo EA82 idle spastic when cold
'87 EA82T.My local Subaru senior master tech says it could be a grounding issue.Any thoughts? Idle stays steady upon starting but once you kick it down it wants to jump from about 1500 to 2500 PRM. After driving around, and then shutting the car off it'll act perfectly. At that point it'll idle at around 1100 or 1000. My gas mileage blows bigtime.SPFI gets around 30mpg and the turbo gets more like 20mpg.....bogus dude! Possibly related to grounding(?) is the fact that my radio when on AM has heavy interference when cold/just starting up.Later on it'll sound fine. Thanks for any help.Cheers!

Carter-Webber rebuild kits....
Can you research the part number from some source, say like subaruparts dot com and let me know what it is? I just sold a rebuild for carbs from '81-2 or so.I have at least one more of those, maybe more, and another carb re-build kit for a later model. I'm also involved in helping an old dealer blow out some old stock.I came across several carb rebuild kits today but had no time to get p/n's checked.Didn't even take note of the p/n's but I will soon.

any one see the 360 on ebay!!!
Subarfreak, you talking about Holmgren's 360 p/u???? Stop by there today,I'll be there from about 10-1:30 if you are able to get there.I understand that you'll probably be working but just thought I'd offer a chance to meet. His 360 is in the service area.Just sits there, guys lean stuff on it,the cargo area has junk in it,but it's still a really nice example.
