  1. Way to go Flowey...feel the power of the 3AT (yawn)
  2. http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/schedule/import/index.asp May 21-23,2004......be there!!!
  3. No,we don't NEED 25 but if we get 25 the group is given a tent to use by the organizers....and at least two of us have vowed to cook a nice meal for the gang. The main thing is to just show up,25 or not.Well worth the trip.Carlisle is THE event on the east coast.Even attracts folks from all over the country.
  4. Rob,if things work out and we contact him I tend to doubt he'll deny that you sent money.I think just the opposite, that he needs his tree shaken and then we'll get the fruit. I will personally take care of your stuff if this ever happens and you won't pay me a dime. We'll hack it out of the total lot purchacse and get it all at a few cents on the dollar just like he did.I know you've helped me bigtime when I needed that gas filler throat. No sweat returning the favor....Billy,give us a chance dag nabbit.
  5. I feel this should be posted here but if you guys feel you need to move it then I'll live with that. What's the general consensus here about Billy C and the teaser of the year award? Some of you guys have even sent money and gotten zippo.I'm not that unfortunate but it's winter time and I was really hoping to get some stuff happening towards my '78 resto. What to do?I've emailed(not lately though)and gotten no response. Is anyone close to him in proximity or relation? Justin??Anyone in GA?? Rather than list our complaints let's concentrate on a solution.Group purchase and relieve him of the weight it's cast on him and his newlywed?...not so newly anymore. Billy if you see this you have to know we don't want to sit here and rag on you buddy.
  6. Congrats. Be sure to remind me about the '78 FSM later in the week.
  7. As of this post on 1/25/04 Committed,or should be..... moosens-Paul TinSoldier-Ryan Dennis-as portrayed by himself BratySVX,a.k.a. benebob-Ben hocrest-Dave TomRHere-Tom,not wongleflute or Harry ...got that? SubaruBrat-? Kecksnext-Hooter's Girl factory inspector MeekyMoose-Tony Wagon78-Scott Considering: OHNoah-as himself Oobnuker-Art That's only a dozen if all above commit. Looking for responses from: Skip-whip out the excuse book Trogdor-I know you might have some gig to hit WagonsOnly-just drop off the '75 at my place on the way home,if not sooner. clantieri-you'll be in Vegas WAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!:boohoo: EJ-you still one of us? BattleXT6-Jason-skip a tatoo session and stop by j/k There's been a few new members from the northeast lately. It'd be nice to see a few more folks show up.It's a really cool event rain or shine but obviously if it isn't nasty out you'll see some cars you will absolutely drool over.
  8. congrats! My touring wagon turned 200k recently.Unfortunately it's been in my sister inlaw's hands since 199,990 so she got to turn it over.Hoping for another 200k.
  9. Dennis good luck with the next one. Can we do Saturday early??? Things have freed up so I can make it there by 11AM and be gone by 12 I'm sure. Talk to me....
  10. a little heat goes a long way on those 36mm's.....PB Blaster too,but the torch for a few seconds on that nut makes it a lovely experience.
  11. ....ahhhh I don't know about *that*.Maybe a solid $1800-2300 tops, only because there's just not much interest in it.The kids want a WRX or STi and the folks willing to spend a fair amount on an XT are few and far between. Saw a black Turbo XT today.Definitely stood out on the road. Was being driven into the ground but still looked like fun.
  12. My brother used a kit from NAPA and he's doing fine with it after about 12K miles so far.The kit has T-belt,cam seals and O rings, and the tensioner pulleys. Can't remember the price.
  13. OK Which one of you will chop some sections off that sucker if you're going to canibalize it? What's left that's not spoken for already?
  14. Thinking the 1st yr. of EA81 was 1979 in USA and last I guess is 1989 in the Hatch but I've only seen up to '87 here.Still have yet to come across an '88 or '89 EA81 car in CT. EA82 started in 1985.I assume they ran untill the end of the Loyale which I guess is '94.Don't see many '93 or '94 Loyales here either. Vac pump I have no idea of begining and ending dates.
  15. Ed's a great guy.Sent me the EGR switch before payment.I looked quick but couldn't find his address. Free bump to the top.
  16. I don't have one but someone I know does.GLF! I just had one and sold it to WagonsOnly. Is that really it's own size? Can't use another coupe or hardtop? Well,if you want to take a ski road trip now's the time.Pretty sure you can score the windshield within your price range. Oh BB,Wendy and the Soul Shakers.http://www.geocities.com/imjames69/WendyRich.html Good quick read for info/pics:http://artists.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/Wendy_Rich/ Fronted Janis Joplin's former band-Big Brother and the Holding Company.STRONG voice, great blues singer and she rocks.A Tampa St.Pete favorite for a while. That's Tunstall's off of 19.Worth a stop in.Good luck riding that area.I know it's a little hairy in that traffic. No contamporary bikes at the moment.Just a couple old Ducatis and a Sears(Puch) for the wife. Cheers!
  17. Good luck to him.Tough finding the right words to say.Best to the family.Let's hope he brings lots of light and laughter back to the household.
  18. St.Pete. FL eh? Love that area, especially out over the causeway-Clearwater Beach....welcome and good luck with the Brat. Is Wendy Rich still playing clubs down there?Wendy and the Soul Shakers-or so it was back in the 90's.My friend was helping her with photography for here CD's/Promo's. And Syd Tunstall's Ducati-and other sweet bikes-motorcycle shop? Some of the nicest people in the industry. One of the coolest places to walk into in you love European motorcycles and race bikes in general.
  19. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to the club! My '78 is exempt too,yeehaa...and I was lucky enough to take advantage of CT's bungling DOT policies and my '78 never even needed safety inspection.I'm quite sure it'd pass emmisions no problem. But you never know what kind of weasel you get at a safety inspection. They can make your day go bad in a minute.
  20. I couldn't agree more! Make mine a dual range 5spd please.I own an '89 SPFI with d/r and an '87 Turbo wagon.I prefer the '89 for reliability in snow and off road. The Turbo is nice for the power though. It's the single range 4wd that I'm not so crazy about.
  21. Yeah,I've seen what you guys call rust and most of us here laugh for hours, then cry later.....I might be able to score those racks for a lot cheaper than a re-chrome.Todd just told me about his "blackout" rack.Cheaper than chrome also. OK We'll talk soon. Are you ready for some football????
  22. Some of the 70's cars have very similar belt housings. And the reciever ends are even more similar, almost the same part it seems. Good luck, let us know what happens if you try some on your Brat.
  23. Todd and I are interested as well as the other 70's owners I'm sure. Not to bust stones but you said nothing rusts here.....guess the rack didn't listen to that.At least your cars stay reasonably healthy.Up here I'd truely appreciate a rust free body. Those racks were made right here in CT for Subaru.I'm hoping to find a stash of them someday.I've got someone who knows some of the old mfg.'s personel and hopefully we'll find out if new ones still exist somewhere. My '78 was rustproofed so it's one of a very very very few that survived.Wagon78 has his up here too but it was originally from a more drier climate, not the west, but not the salty New England area either. I need a few things for my '78 too.I'll be in touch soon.
  24. I want a full report on the Skipper's bountiful land of vehicles upon returning, please.LOL
  25. When I had two '75's side by side I could plainly see that the underbodies are a little different. All due to the 4WD. I still think it can be done.Infact,if I get this '75 coupe I'm going to make the attempt.Probably use an SPFI EA82 if I can wedge it in there. The R and D will be fun I'm sure.THose coupes have such a flat bottom.Probably just weld a subframe in like the Gen II Brat lift that Bruce from Maine has(zrBrat, used to be on the old board). Please post, whoever does the deed first.Miles, you done this yet?
