carrier bearing mounting question....
subiemech85 replied to monstaru's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I used a manure spreader bar, cut in 1/2, to fit, turned bearing so the tabs were down, drilled the holes for the bearing, then jacked the driveshaft to the floor so the bar made contact, marked where the holes should go for the 3/8" bolts, drilled the holes using a drill press, put bar back up, and used a BAD to drill through the body, NOTE!! the carpet must be pulled up, used fender washers, stuck bolts in from topside with fenderwashers down through body and bar, lockwasher, and nut total of 6 holes, and no $ -
it's a matter of "mix n' match", and I love it! also appreciate common seals, bolts, fastners, and major componets

that's ANGLE I borrowed the Big Angle Drill, 1/2" single speed makita right angle drill, reversible with jacobs keyed chuck to drill the 4 holes to mount the carrier bearing, and I had only 1/2" between the ground and the drill, fun I am "slowly" in the process of making my own, mostly all free -
