  1. Noise may mean already cutting into metal...
  2. I need a F'n road trip man!
  3. Post is about the dealer mech part, if it seems off topic.....
  4. Hatchy sent his MR-2 to the shop, and another vehicle rolled into it, doing some damage that would make ME uncomfortable (But Hatchy is not yet totally automotive Knowledgable as I yet), they got the motor wired and plumbed and running... free of charge... cuz of a mishap... I would go ape************ with a sawed off or full auto....
  5. I removed all the AC equip that came with it though.. JDM Rip n Ship.
  6. My JDM EA71 (1600) came with a clutch fan on the water pump. My wagon was already rigged with an electric fan (real common) on the passenger side of the radiator. Helped big with cooling, but I took the clutch fan off and I got a buttload of hill climbing low end torque. If the thermo switch turns the fan on when it should, cool. If it don't, the mechanical fan is handy, but, replace the thermo switch so you can place the power your right foot demands to the pavement.
  7. Put "Subaru MuFu" backward so people can read it in their rear view mirror.
  8. Me and a few buddies rolled an old wagon over so I could take the engine and tranny out the bottom. It was an old burned out hulk, the tranny worked until I broke the diff.
  9. They're building a road through it......play while you can!
  10. I would like to turn my parts wagon into a two door. Brat/Hatch doors are exactly 12" longer than wagon doors (I checked).
  11. Looks like 1 1/2" ID at the flange that bolts to the head, and 1 3/4" behind the cat. Just took it off my '83 Brat.
  12. You will want a rebuild kit. It comes with all the gaskets, accelerator pump, etc.
  13. Happened to me a couple times. First was real bad noise, banging and clashing in my tranny, second was a little shudder in my steering wheel and pop no go. The rear end will hold up to driving. Pull the e-brake and lay some rubber.
  14. Where did you get those rims?
  15. Obviously, Redline adaptors look like they're made in Taiwan. Who makes a better 32/36 adaptor? Does Offenhauser still make em? Also, is there any 40mm DCOE setups on EA81/82? Couldn't find anything searching.
  16. That place was so awesome! I used to take my wagon back there all the time. Got stuck in a deep puddle and filled my car up with water.
  17. My '80 wagon gen 2 EA71, before I swapped in a D/R, had 4.111:1 gears. No sticker on the diff, though.
  18. I had a rear control arm complete with drum and axle, two rotors and two calipers in the back when I hit that bump the other day.
  19. I tried to jump my wagon today on the street, the rear end caught the most air, and the passenger side rear dipped and bounced alot cuz I need to put a shock in there.
  20. I've always seen 3.7:1 in the automatics.
  21. I've blown head gaskets on two motors from stuck thermostats, get a new one, cheap insurance.
