  1. That is an Awesome story, good way to "Resurrect" a good ol' EA82 wagon; the ATF had freed stuff inside but maybe more miles driving plus a new Oil Pump might help to elongate her lifespan. I like the fact it was Free, nothing can Beat free for sure... I wish I could find such a deal in Honduras... because even with those problems, that Wagon would be expensive here... Congratulations, Kind Regards.
  2. Confused the + with the - ... Sorry. The 40 offset on the Nissan wheels I have, Really looks and works absolutely Perfect for the L wagon EA82, they are like factory fitment and thus means that the Bearings on each wheel will not suffer from the wheels being sticking out too much. I used to own a 4X140 wheel that came off a Citröen, the wheel was brand Cheviot, but made in France instead of Australia, and has less offset than the Subaru ones, somewhere the ~ 30 and I remember that there were 13" and also 14" cheviots. Sorry for hijack the thread ... Kind Regards.
  3. Have you checked for Vacuum Leaks around the Carburetor and its Base? Any unhooked Vacuum line? Kind Regards.
  4. That is True, the Peugeot wheels does stick out too much. However, without the Lift, I was using Aftermarket wheels that had same problem than the Peugeot ones, sticking out too much. So, recently I obtained a set of Nissan's 240sx 15" wheels, whose offset seems to be Perfect for the L series / EA82 wagon; they has -40 offset and stays inside the wheel's well like the factory ones. By the way, what was *exactly* the Factory offset measurement for the EA82 / L wagons? Kind Regards.
  5. ...But you must be sure that Catalytics aren't required in your area, first... I'll like to read more information on that subject, Kind Regards.
  6. Erasing Both catalytic converters + a full 2" exhaust piping, Really helps with the Weber. Kind Regards.
  7. I ran 205/60 R15" on my "BumbleBeast" when it was unlifted, those are between 24.5" and 25" depending on the tire brand, and I only had a slight rub on the inner front fender, on tight curves at fast speeds. I still use same size with my 2" lift, because it gives the best balance for Highways / offroad \ city driving and fuel mileage, with awesome grip. Kind Regards.
  8. That is a very nice Brat, and you've done an Awesome Job with it. Congratulations! So, you want to Lift it 4" + add bigger Tires, isn't it? Keep us updated, Kind Regards.
  9. ...as far as I remember, the EA82's with Power Steering, has an steering coupler with two universal joints, while the EA82's with Manual Steering, only has one universal joint on their coupler; so in that case, you better elongate the one you already have, if needed. Kind Regards.
  10. That is a Big difference ... ... The information regarding the steering shaft, that needs to be lengthened, if you drop the engine's crossmember, is for the EA82 with Power Steering, Not for the Manual Steering models...
  11. Have you already installed the Strut top Blocks? Also my "BumbleBeast" is an '85 EA82 Wagon, and the '92 Legacy steering coupler works great: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/113907-lookin-for-a-front-lil-lift/?p=1257473 Kind Regards.
  12. '90 XT6? ... I thought those were offered in USA on years '88, '89 and '91, no '90. Photos will make this sale, easier... Kind Regards.
  13. Usually, we elongate the Holes for the Bolts at the SPFi intake manifold, to mate it to the EA81 Block. You used another way to get same Achievement as well... In fact, a New, Non-Feedback hitachi carburetor is Great, and that is the Reason why certain forum members in other countries like Australia, will never Understand our Love for the Weber Carburetors: They never received a True Feedback Hitachi Carburetor with O2 sensors, more Sensors, lots of vacuum hoses, etc... Sorry for Hijack the Thread, Kind Regards.
  14. May I ask you Why? I understand the problems that an Old, feedback Hitachi carburetor gives; but you can Weberize the engine easily, and a weber carb is Reliable, provides almost the same power than the SPFi plus the unique induction noise...
  15. You're Welcome! You can see Photos of that spring installed, and get further info, in the following thread: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/128564-help-remove-hill-holder/ Kind Regards.
  16. Holy Cow! ... ... I must admit that I completely Forgot about the intermittent setting on the Wipers of my Subie, that Feature stopped working as it should since 1994, and despite that I know that the issue must be located internally, on the Wiper Motor, I have been too Lazy to fix it, maybe because here is almost not needed: On the Caribbean we either have Sun Shining or Downpours, more often than slow rains... If you removed the Cable from the Clutch Fork to the Hill Holder's Check Valve, then you shall place a Return Spring at the clutch Fork, because it was located at said Valve, and the clutch might develop certain wear without the Spring. There's a placement for that spring at the Fork, because not all these Subarus featured Hill Holder, you can buy the exact spring at the Subaru Dealer. Kind Regards.
  17. Welcome! Please let us know on which british car brand / model \ year, are you wanting to Retrofit such subaru parts, so it will be easier for us to figure out how to help you with the best ideas for fitment. Kind Regards.
  18. Sadly, in Honduras, the Higher octane Gasolines, barely reaches the amount of octanes found on the Lower octane Gasolines that you have in USA, and we call that, the "Super" ... ... and then, comes the "Regular" that is lower than the Lower octane Gasoline offered in USA ... ... those are the only two options we have here; but once upon a time, long years ago, we had a Third choice, named: "Gasohol" which was a crazy Gasoline / Alcohol mixture, with even lower octane, that the engines almost vomited... That being said, I noticed that my Wife's M.P.F.i. engined car, really performs almost the same with our "Regular" and our "Super" Gasolines, however, the car really uses almost 30% more with Regular fuel, than Super for same Mileage, and needs to have the Gas pedal, floored more frequently, to climb hills and pass on Highways... On my Weberized Subaru EA82 which I run at 20º Timing, the engine develops ignition Noise with Regular, which almost disappears with the Super. My '69 coupe really don't care what it has on the Tank, it always performs Flawlessly, somehow, and all the Measurements I've took, were using this Method... ...as I explained here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/101718-kia-sephia-sporty/page-24?do=findComment&comment=1276280 Kind Regards. (Edited to add the Web Link)
  19. It is located on the driver's side (obviously), @ engine's bay. Look here for the part itself: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/113907-lookin-for-a-front-lil-lift/page-2?do=findComment&comment=1257473 On that thread you'll find further information on the Subject. Kind Regards.
  20. I wrote one, but it is focused on the EA82 engine, however, many of that ideas may be applicable for the EA71, so you might find useful information on it, which is here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/71510-ideas-on-swaping-a-weber-carb-on-ea82's/ Kind Regards.
  21. Welcome! We like Photos here, maybe you can share a couple of photos of your Subarus with us. Is your Forester, Manual / Dual Range transmission? Kind Regards.
  22. Do you have a photo of such Check Valve? Seems like the one on my Subie, got lost between space and time, somehow...
  23. There's no need to remove the front Bumper, at all... You gain plenty of space by removing the Headlamps. Kind Regards.
  24. Like the Voice of Foghorn Leghorn? I'll like to hear that!
  25. Dear Rust, I really do not like having to contradict you, but those photographs does not belong to prototype of the Subaru SVX, in fact it is the prototype made by Ital Design, powered by a Five Cylinders, twenty valves, Audi engine: Aztec Spider / Aspid Coupe / Asgard MiniVan (ItalDesign), 1988 More information and Photos, here: ~► http://www.carstyling.ru/en/car/1988_italdesign_aztec/images/17732/ Seems like only sixteen were built... Kind Regards.
