  1. man that sucks! but hey, its a TW, just hook up to a tree, do some reverse tugs in low range till its about right, then slap a fender on there and some lights, and a rad, and you'll be trashin again in no time! looks like you got the best of that shot, the monte is barely hit.
  2. thanks for all the response guys! i`ll try to go ahead and get it, but i know of a completly rusted out brat a guy was giving away about a year ago, but with a clear title. want to see if i can contact him first. one good part is that it does indeed come with the front clip, its in the back! he also has the grill, bezels, fender, bumper, ect. it comes with a bunch of spares. worse comes to worse, i out to be able to get my money back out of it, right?
  3. well, i found this brat for $450. it comes with a load of extra parts, including all parts to fix it, and a spare engine tranny. the only thing with it is that is was wrecked, and supposedly totaled, but the hit doesn`t look too bad. the thing that makes me scared to buy it is the salvage title. i`d like to buy it and restore it, but is it worthless with that? it has absolutly no rust. heres pics: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d118/ruppenduro/e593re2.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d118/ruppenduro/e92dre2.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d118/ruppenduro/cda3re2.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d118/ruppenduro/5349re2.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d118/ruppenduro/21a7re2.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d118/ruppenduro/24ecre2.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d118/ruppenduro/42b7re2.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d118/ruppenduro/3e76re2.jpg
  4. yeah, i could see it now "top 5 most stolen in U.S." 1. honda civic 2. hummer h2 3. subaru brat............wait WTF?????? 4. who cares 5. blah blah
  5. what are you getting for milage on that thing? i`m looking at one in Newburgh for $500, but its got 170k
  6. the battle wagon is lookin pretty sweet man. the fender looks good also. was it a rattle can job? really the car looks like it held up great for 11 yrs old.
  7. dude, next time you can hire me to fix/paint your cars. i`ll even drive up and do the work at your house hahaha.
  8. i got $3k for this one and thought i made a killing although it was rust free:
  9. if you ever total your brat, show them that and a few others, you'd do pretty well;) as far as i`m concerned Ed's blue one is in just as good of shape.
  10. i think i might horn the cylinders in my hatch and cut the rear roof off. then slap some brat badges on it and throw it up on ebay for 6k buy it now. some rich idiot is bound to buy it:grin:
  11. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subaru-BRAT-1987-SUBARU-BRAT-RESTORED-12-000-mi-ON-REBUILT-ENGINE_W0QQitemZ150022778956QQihZ005QQcategoryZ6467QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem seems like alot of money, actually tooooo much. the resto just doesn`t look good enough for that amount. it should be like new as far as i`m concerned.
  12. if you want that style, Ed Dahl is your man. He can be contacted at dahled@aol.com he might be able to do turbo ones as well, but be prepaired to spend over $100
  13. would ya settle for something like this??
  14. i emailed the owner (John) and he told me $1800 FIRM:eek: seems a lil steep for what it is. i`ll pass....... it might be worth that to some collectors, maybe the rich ones lol
  15. the 4.3 is a great motor, his must have just been defective. i`ve seen 4.3 astro's pulling 30ft trailers before with ease. i`ve also seen many astro's as fleet vehicles with over 250k. overall, its probly one of chevy's better motors, along with the iron dukes.
  16. Mcbrat (Mick) is your man. he's in Iowa i believe
  17. hey Bryan, out of curiosity, do you know how much he's getting for it? thanks Jon
  18. just out of curiosity, how hard is it to drive a manual with just your right foot?
  19. i saw a chevy S-10 the other day with 560k and it was still running! 4.3 v6! i don`t think cars can ever compete with semi trucks though:-\ semi's are always on the road and racking up miles. its not uncommon to see some with over 800k with cummins, mercedes, or cat diesels.
  20. i would do the same:slobber: (in a different spot of course)
  21. soooo minty fresh:slobber: :slobber: how long has she owned it?
  22. spray paint the edges of the cargo area underneath the carpet black, so that you won`t notice the carpet being in so-so condition, it will just blend right in.
  23. i vote for a blue stripe, just a double pin stripe or something that runs along the upper body line of the truck. i think it will look great. its nice to see the progress made on this resto. what color are the wagon wheels?
  24. this guy did the propane conversion on his subaru as well: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=57399&highlight=propane
