thanks man, i was wonderin about that thing, couldn't remember if i took that off my camaro or i left it, so i didn't touch it. tomarrow when my scooby goes to school ill tape off the rest of the crap if anyone else sees something on there that i can toss please say so, and maybe circle it in the picture for reference. you know the car sounds REALLY beastly when you have the exhaust open from those weird things that tie into the heads for exhaust recirculation. it sounds VERY nice, i was thinking of leavin it like that. carfreak85, thanks for that heads up, just wanted to make sure it was ok. sheif tim, ok, ill check into taht, but im used to my chevies, when the cars come with a PCV system, but all it does is gum up the carburator, so i just hooked them together to the breather rather then running a breather on each side like you do on chevies. if i read that i am incorrect then ill change it, i just dont want to gum up my carb any sooner then i have to. Todays Project
well i just got done stripping most of the vacume lines in my engine bay, looks much better, seems to run smoother, rev faster, and have more power sooner. but i also noticed that i got a lifter tap. i had it before i messed with the stuff today, so i highly doubt its an exhaust leak. also i put on a breather hooked with a T tot he two PCV breather vents on the heads, and is it normal for smoke to come out of the PCV's?? but, what do i have to do to fix the tap? i was thinking i have to pull the valve covers and do it with the engien in the car. but i then thought, why dont i also get a set of custom cams, and pull the engine while im at it. then fix my oil leak, finish stripping the emmisions junk, put in the cams, and fix the lifters. what do you guys reccomend i do, i know i ahve to fix my oil leak for sure, and the lifter tap since this car has to get me around town and such until july, when i am driving to arizona, and i have to have a very reliable car while im down there for college. Thanks, Shean

Rebuild Kits
got a reply: Shean, I do not offer the re-ring kit for the carb. engine, but do offer the re-ring kit for the SPFI (fuel injection) engine. The part number and price for that re-ring kit are: EKSU8R $274.06 plus $12.50 shipping to most places. The parts included in this kit are: premium rings, main and rod bearings, and complete gasket set including seals. Of coarse, we will need to know the sizes of the rings (std., .020, etc.) and bearings (std., .010, .020, or .030) when you call to purchase. All the same price. Your next step is to call our toll free number at: 1-877-522-5265 to purchase what you need, 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., Monday-Friday, MST (Utah). We accept most major credit cards over the phone when you call to purchase. spider intake and MPFI
well 5 weeks would mean working every day without school, also meaning good weather to work on it in the drive way, and my girlfriend to understand, so i know that its not going to happen. so ill just wait till later and pick up a GL-10 turbo wagon, and put on the spider intake. rather then try to convert mine.

oil leak
ok i think i traced down my oil leak, i was goofin around today and saw a puddle on the top of the block, under the intake on the passenger side. i can get a picture if you guys need a referance point, but what could be leaking, it seems as if its seeping out, and running downt he engine and then onto the exhaust, causing that dam groase smell. Thanks, Shean

spider intake and MPFI
oh, and does the wiring run between the seats, or driver side, passenger side, what? does anyone know before i get there and try to trace this stuff down. also do i need anything that plugs intot he harness inside the interior. what i mean is where the harness enters the interior through the firewall, anythign that plugs into it, do i need that stuff, or can i just plug in my stuff from my 86 carb wagon? Thanks, Shean PS, calebz, dont need them, i got my turbo heads sittin in my garage, when i do all this i will also bolt on the turbo. and change over the intake for the turbo settup.

spider intake and MPFI
because the guy that i was talking to was being a prick to me, so i told him that i would be back later for the rest, and i would give him $35 for the intake, wiring harness, ECM, and everything else, ifnot then i will tip the freakin car off the other one. he gave it to me after i pulled it and said that, worked out a deal for the parts too, $40 for everything i need. they are pricks, you step up, they back down, its nice.
-
spider intake and MPFI
yes its a grey interior, and its at AAA by Budget auto wrecking in kent. what do you need, im going back to grab the parts, i can get price quotes for ya. are you serious about the ECM, dam that sucks, so i have to pull apart the trunk to get it? and what am i soposted to do about the wiring running to it? just pull it with the ECM?, that means pulling out the whole interior huh? it sucks because its on the top of a scooby wagon so it isnt the easist to get into, i had to crawl in through the sun roof today to grab some stuff and pop the hood.

spider intake and MPFI
darn, i dont think i can afford the monkey, so i guess i just settle for the ECM. so i need: Mass Air Flow Throttle Position Sencor O2, dont i have one on my hitachi carbed EA82? and i know that i need the dizzy. what about the knock sencor? is that on the top of the deck for the block? or is that in the ECM in this year? Thanks, Shean

spider intake and MPFI
then heck, im going to go grab the wiring harness out of the XT tomarrow, and the ECM, as well as the sencors. also, how do i take out the ECM out of a 91 XT4?? i know the wiring harness runs into the car, but where is the ECM, is it behind the center concole? also how do i get the harness out? i need everything so i can put it in my 86 wagon. everything is there, i just need to grab it. but also, what sencors do i need to convert from carb to MPFI? i know: MAF Knock Cencor but what else?
