'06 Model?
carfreak85 replied to photo2001's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI can just pictue how ugly that grill is going to be. Subaru needs a real SUV, seeing as they already have the outback. I understand they wanted a bigger car, but that thing looks like it would get stuck on a croquet lawn!

Outback - Busted Skid Plate (AGAIN)!
carfreak85 replied to vtphoto's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe only plate I have is the factory one on my 84 wagon. I take that off for oil changes and I listed a link that shows the Primitive Racing plates installed on cars.

Yes it is actually threaded. I just saw a draincock on ebay a little while ago. Don't think its there anymore.

ea81t MT conversion
I would also go with the 4 speed first, but I really, really, really enjoy having the 5 speed so if you end up not enjoying the car with the 4 speed, by all means put in the five-er!

Rear E-Brake donor found. (U.S. model)
PoorManzImpreza, would yoube able to look into the piston size for the subaru rear discs and the piston size on the bluebird too? It would be great if they were the same size! Also could you look at the pads and see if they're similar? Thanks for any help you can give!

ea81t MT conversion
I have the five speed box in my car and it took a tiny amount of grinding to make it clear. I also had to buy the conversion kit from Jerry, bratsrus, to get it to fit. If you don't want to deal with this, just go with the 4 speed.

rear swaybar for ea81?
Do a search, its been covered many times.

Lack of power in reverse?
No, never had this problem! I think the increase in torque from the lower ratio makes you stick a little more from digging in, but I also think that you just don't have the speed in reverse, so you bog down easily.

AWD Legacy wagons in sand?
I have no idea. But if you want any rig to do better in the sand put taller tires on it, this will make the tire's footprint longer so it will be less likely to dig itself into the sand. But you probably already knew that.

Rear discs on a Gen 1?

Where to find Inexpensive Oem alloys
carfreak85 replied to Nathany's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXLook in the marketplace or go over to NASIOC or one of the other new gen forums. There aren't many places online, besides ebay, that I know of that sell OEM wheels for anything.

Snow is the best! Until you dig down to the dirt, then you need to move to find good snow again!

83 turbo brake upgrade
My 84 turbo wagon has vented front rotors. I think all EA81s had vented front rotors from 84 until subaru killed them. The EA81T cars had larger front bars than the rest of the EA81s as well as lower, stiffer suspensions so there isn't much upgrading to be had from that gen. The front bars from an EA82 may or may not fit, I have no idea, but someone with more experience might chime in.

Cool, thanks John!

Outback - Busted Skid Plate (AGAIN)!
carfreak85 replied to vtphoto's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe skid plate would do the same thing as a splash sheild, but not on purpose, mostly for keeping sharp/hard/pokey things out of your oil pan, etc. Yours does look to be mounted incorrectly, but I would suggest Primitive Racing skip plates because they go back farther than the IPD ones (The IPD plates are wider however). http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/skid.htm Look at the WRX plate
