Running a sube in RWD
Not sure if this is the appropriate forum. I was wondering if those folks who have run their cars without the front axles could tell me about the handling of their cars. Is there a lot of drag in the system? What is the handling balance? Economy improved or worsened? How much of a beating can the rear CVs take? Overall I want to know your thoughts on the car after the swap.

Beat up rims
If the rust is flaking, then you're in trouble. Use a wire wheel and finish it with a rattle can!

i wonder when this will be considerd old gen???
I hate that new grill. Plus that is the future of subaru's sporty cars and it has a damn automatic. Yuck.

Legacy_After Market Fog Light Kit
carfreak85 replied to mystro's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDo a search online for Hella, Pilot, KC, etc. lighting companies. See what catches your fancy and go from there. Also take the part number for the factory lighting kit for your car and enter it on subaruparts.com. They have the best prices I have seen so far.

Gen 1 4WD Conversion
Is it easy to throw the 4WD gear from a factory 4WD gen 1 wagon on to a 2WD wagon? Found an awesome 2WD body but it was not 4WD.

Loyale TURBOable?
It would be prudent to have the whole front wiring harness because they are different from turbo to normally asperated.

ea81 lift kit on an ea71?
That falls into the 80-84 model range, so yes, it will work. Although if you plan on offroading it, then I would pu the 1800 engine in. Also that can't be the original engine because no USDM Gen 2 brats had 1600 to the best of my knowledge.

sooby dealerships SUCK!
HAHAHA, sucks for you guys! The dealer I go to doesn't always have what I need, but they always have the part number. And I know most of the guys who work there and they're pretty cool. They even knew about the WCSS6 and were telling people about it when I walked in. Chaplins is awesome, Ed and Wayne especially.

It's Official: I'm Certifiable!!!
I didn't say I was offended, I was just giving a word of caution. You never know who you might be offending.

It's Official: I'm Certifiable!!!
Hey, not that I care if you guys talk about it, in fact I make fun of my self all the time because I was the normal kid in my special ed class (Procrastination and A.D.D. will put you there), but just be aware that there may be people on the board that have been in special ed. Now that I think about it, there were some messed up kids in my class in high school!

Anyone got pics of lights mounted on their EA81s? I'm gonna put My Hella 500s on soon and I'd like to see where others placed their lights.

rear pads...any good ones?
I did a search and didn't seem to come up with a dealer that sold subaru pads. Where do you guys get them? I'm planning on doing brakes over winter break and I'd like to upgrade them.

I finally figured out the coolant loss problem on my wagon! I figureed it was near the turbo because we had just replaced a coolant hose that fed the turbo and that it was evaporating before I could see where the leak was, but it turns out that it was on the other side of the engine bay. I parked the car and heard a coolant hiss and traced it back to the heater hose going into the car. I pushed the hose on as far as I could and tightened it up and so far it appears that the temperature is now ROCK SOLID! I'm stoked! However I now have an intermitant tapping HLA, a bit of brake squeal and an exhaust that needs to be split at the slip joint and reclocked. I'll nip the squeal in the bud when I put the rear disc conversion on since I plan on replacing all pads at teh same time. Would changing the oil take care of the HLA? Wish me luck in perfecting this car!
