Nice! Glad it found a good home. I'll have to come check it out some time.

What Can You Do?
This may be really obvious, but have you removed your anti-roll bar? That will help some. T-case will help. I notice you mentioned a LSD, but have you considered a welded rear diff?

good brake pad avalibility
What about rear pads? Does Carbotech have an application specifically for the rear subaru calipers? Also, I've been looking at PBR metal master pads, has anyone had any experience using these pads in a performance application?

Strut Tower Brace....Q....
This company is out of buisness IIRC. Yes it is DIY and depending on the construction and materials used, it can be worth $155, however that one held no special merits other than it was designed to fit our cars.

Subiesport Mag 'old school' Project
My vote is EA81 hatch first, XT6 second.

Yay, saw an old gen subaru first time since I moved to Michigan
HAHAHAHAHA, this is why I LOVE the PNW! All I have to do is walk out to the parking lot next to my building and I can pick out 4-5 generations of subarus! EA81T wagons to WRXs.

B9 TRIBECA... and other things... discuss...
carfreak85 replied to Zefy's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXHey buddy, I'm not in high school. And I appriciate platform sharing when it accomplishes something. This has done absolutly nothing for subaru, SAAB is getting all the benifits while subaru just gets to sell more imprezas. There is nothing going on to better the subaru brand, sorry.

Sexxxay....
I don't want to second guess anyone, but I agree for all the same reasons. the sedan is a "3 Box" structure while the coupe is a "2 Box" structure. By that I mean that you have the hood and fenders making a box, the cabin making a box and in the case of the sedan, the trunk makes a box. Coupes have a HUGE hole in the back of the cabin that makes them very prone to twisting. Just think about it for a moment. Glass has practically no structural integridy. A good example is cardboard box that is fully closed up is much stronger than one with one end open. We talked at length about this in a few of my auto classes over the years. Yes you can add bracing, but if you start with an ultimatly stiffer design and add the same amount of bracing, the sedan will still be stiffer.

B9 TRIBECA... and other things... discuss...
carfreak85 replied to Zefy's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI don't want to talk about the B9, sore subject. The forester is borrowed by chevy because they hold a 20 some odd percent of FHI and can basically do whatever they want. That is why we have those damn SAAbarus.

Are XT6 Rear Axles Different/Special ?
The axles are stronger IIRC and the differential is the same as other subes.

Another source of EJ series Dual Range trannys
I agree with Dan. Having a factory EJ DR tranny would be the sweetest thing in the world! Someday...

Mid Engined Subaru??
Well at least we know how you'd do it!

Is it's first name Alex??
carfreak85 replied to Dr. RX's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe first name of the host of Jeopardy is Alec I believe.

lets talk about MAF's
Do the MAF swap then get one of those nifty fuel computers and use it to alter the the signal so it will work. I think that set up would net a few hp if not more.

Mid Engined Subaru??
Go for it!

161 Awhp, 206 Awtq!!!!!!!!!!
Did you only make one pull per boost level?

pk 4/3 lift v. 3/3 lift
Having the 4" lift in front will lower the amount of cutting needed to fit 28" tires.

WRX mastercylinder in an EA82?
I don't know, but don't put a WRX master cylinder in your car just to say you have one. Unless they have the same bore diameter, it will severly screw up your stock brake bias and make your brakes very poor in general.

carfreak85 replied to Dr. RX's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThat is the stupidest thing Subaru has ever done. Ugly, heavy (4200lbs), ugly, underpowered (250hp, 217lbft), ugly, not an SUV (Lack of ground clearance), ugly, no manual offered and finally, FUGLY! What the hell were they thinking? If this is the wave of the futrue for subaru, I might be looking tword a manufacturer who takes their cars seriously.

what's up with the flimsy doors?
carfreak85 replied to 66Satellite's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXOne thing Subaru talks about in some press releases is the fact that you can roll down your window with the door open and sit on the top of the door while bouncing up and down and the door will still close perfectly. Also the use of a frameless window is safer. You can put your hand in the window portion of the door and slam it and the window will not crush your hand, but it will also not deform at all. I accidently tried the latter on a volvo that belonged to my friend's parents when I was in elementry school and the results were less than steller. I have tried both of these tricks on my Dad's WRX and they work. Try it in your volvo and let me know the results! (Try it in the sube, but not the volvo.)

Gsr problem
Maybe excessive carbon buildup in the cylinders or other hot spots?
-
valve train swap?
Yes.
