  1. Got pics of your RX? Id love a clean RX someday!
  2. I keep telling you guys, my MSD is on its THIRD car in as many years and still running strong!
  3. My buddies brat has a toasted 1st gear syncro. Grinds unless you are at a stop and sometimes pops out when its warmed up.
  4. Sweet! You still want that gauge cluster?
  5. Do what will make you happy!~ If you don't like the pugs, sell them to fund the 5 lug. I think you'll be happier that way because then you can fit impreza brakes on the front.
  6. Why not just get a WRX engine? STi engines are still really expensive and legacy turbo engines are getting more rare every day!
  7. Daniel is a wuss! Daniel is a wuss! Daniel is a wuss! Daniel is a wuss! Daniel is a wuss! Daniel is a wuss! Daniel is a wuss! My car has PS, but its a TURBO so its ok...
  8. I don't think a rio weighs 1600 lbs. A lotus elise weighs about that much and it is a much smaller, lighter car than any kia.
  9. Perhaps your clutch is not disengaging all the way. You might check the adjustment on the clutch cable.
  10. Mine is 84 turbo with cruise.
  11. Wow, where to start? The thing about Subaru is that they made so many unique and cool cars over the years! Well here's my list in no particular order. 81 Brat GL Gen 1 phase 2 4WD wagon 05 STi EA81 turbo wagon and coupe Gen 2 brat GC6 2.5RS 360 sedan and van There are many more than this, but this is all I could think of... (Kind of got overwhelmed by just thinking about all the sick subes! ADD will do that to you!)
  12. I is the Pleadies constalation. It represents the six smaller companies that merged to sorm Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru.
  13. Oh, that makes sense doesn't it!
  14. EA81T cars came with oil coolers. Look in front of the radiator to the right. Its small, but it does its job. I'm gonna replace mine with a bigger one if the temps get too high after my mods.
  15. Come on guys! I know some of you out there have parts books, help a brother out!
  16. Doesn't the linkage on the other side from all other DGV's mean that it is a DGFV aka ford aka smaller venturis?
  17. Please somone help me!!!
  18. Need the throttle cable for a 1984 TURBO wagon badly! Mine is chewed up an I need one in the next week or so. As stated below, the turbo and carb cables might be the same but I don't know, so could someone check the part numbers? The turbo PN is 737065310. Mods, feel free to move this! I posted her for more exposure.
  19. Well, the one thing I haven't done to keep in numbers matching WAS to change the tranny. It's now holding a 5spd D/R under it's belly. Also has a MSD coil, and I'm about to put a manual boost controller on it. I think the radiator will be able to handle the increased temps, but I may go to aftermarket FAL or another companie's big fat fans. Intercooler goes on after the turbo swap. Anyone else with an opinion?
  20. I'll disagree with McBrat and M Morgan. It is less of a sube now (Unless those are Nissan parts). I can't think of one sube to ever have a solid axle, but I can think of tons of Jeeps that came with V8s and burly axles from the factory. I'm with Adam N.D.J., I'd rather keep it all in the family... Just my opinion, but I still think this is a step in a positive direction (Although maybe not in the right one!!! )
  21. I bought a hoist last night and proceeded to pull my EA81T out of the engine bay. She complained a little about having her heart removed and she still needs to be releived of her P/S lines, but she'll be out soon. The shop I'm taking the engine to probably will use a rebuilt short block, but since I would like to keep a numbers matching car, I think I will give them an extra block and keep the original so I can have that rebuilt and eventually put some modded heads on it. So what should I do to the car while the engine is out? I want to replace the hoses with silicone (No fancy colors, just black or grey), but what else should I mod or replace while the engine bay is empty? I will start looking for a WRX or legacy turbo and maybe have an exhaust fabbed up. Besides that, what are your suggestions?
  22. Fingers crossed that the solid axle you used on that has some connection to FHI! (I happen to like the "All Subaru" approch to building Subes) Also how did you get 10" of lift? Blocks on the rear, but what about the front? Is the solid rear all that was done? My friend and I were rolling this idea around a couple years back, but I got more into the street thing because my first sube was a turbo wagon and I was discouraged by board members from running it offroad. I'm planning mods on this sort of level for next year at WWU (I will have a CNC mill at my disposal and a sube to test fit on, plus tracks to test the mods on). I'll keep you guys informed of what I have done as long as you guys keep me on the board in my spare time as I wont be bringing my wagon up to Bellingham. Cool rig Ken, I hope the Bellevue crew and I can see it in action some time soon!
