Good luck finding one in the States. We won't get the GTR until summer and that will be the first "Skyline" Nissan ever imports here.

I'm fighting a similar battle with my coupe right now. Tons of leaky window seals, trunk seals, cracked windshield, etc. I have this project moth-balled right now, but these methods wont work for a DD. One idea in the mean time is to go to a hardware store and pick up a bucket of those salts that absorb water. Just leave it in your car and hope for the best.

Not true. If he can find an EA81T fuel tank, it will have those baffles.

My first guess would be a leaky trunk seal or rear window seal.

Can't wait to hear how fast it is!

Understeer + wet roads...
carfreak85 replied to Caboobaroo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
No, obviously Russ did that. You must have very low standards for tires then. I daily drove and raced RE92s and along with every other WRX owner I've talked to, they were one of the first items to be changed. The difference between 92s and any performance tire is night and day. EVEN IN THE WET. Straight garbage man. -
Love it! More please!

Modded Legacy plate, or a bespoke EA82 piece? Looks sick either way! -
My brother has a nice old CA born wagon that needs to be moble at some point. We have the original 1400(?) that came in it, toasted I think, and a JDM imported 1400. Should we put this back in or go with an EA71, or maybe even make it a Yenko by stuffing a big block, big valve EA81 in it with a Weber. What do you guys think? What are the advantages to keeping it stock, or going to newer parts? Also, how difficult is it to put the entire EA81 front suspension under the front of one of these? Will a later R160 Subaru LSD fit in the rear?

I've got one of those, hehe! The '76 grill and headlight trim looks way better in my opinion. Subaruguru, I think we have twins seperated at birth in Japan, reunited by the efforts of the USMB!!

EA82 sway bar on an EA81 sedan?
carfreak85 replied to hatchsub's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have the parts, and the tools to do this, but have yet to make it happen. From what I understand, you must weld new anti-roll bar mounts to the rear semi-trailing arms. Your other option is to modify EA82 rear trailing arms to fit the EA81. In any case, the bar must be narrowed some how. Weather this means bending or trimming the ends, I'm not sure yet. I haven't actually put the bar up there when the car is on stands. The mounts are pretty simple. Get some square tubing one inch wide, cut it in half and then put a groove..... Pictures are worth 1,000 words. Check my photos.
