+1 your 12v supply is hooked to the Red/Green wire for the illumination. Hook it to the Blue/yellow wire instead.

Yeah....5th in the 3.7 box is actually a lower gear.....but 5th is the one gear where both upper and lower gear can be swapped around to different shafts. No....you have to keep the gears that match the type of pinion shaft you have.....the PT boxes have narrower diameter pinion shaft (at least at the part the 3rd and 4th spindle presses on). You could MAYBE swap gears from an EJ AWD box....they have the large diameter pinion shaft like the FT4wd... but as mentioned....you'd end up with taller gears using the PT D/R gears.... Pintonut......the stock GL D/R non turbo 5spd has the lowest first gear of any 3.9 box. They pretty much all have the same 1st..... (3.545:1) ............it's 2nd-5th that are different.

Nope....can't be done....unless you also had a D/R turbo trans....(either PT or FT4wd only in RX models) But what you need is an upper shaft with the D/R gears and a Turbo 2nd-4th gear set......that's the key. Regular D/Rs use a taller 2nd-4th gears (5th too but 5th can be swapped between them) 1st and second, the small gear is part of the Upper shaft......so if you are gonna keep the FT4wd locking diff (on the lower shaft)....you need an upper shaft with a gearset that matches.......1st is the same on all.....but 2nd......second is the crux of the biscuit. So you need a turbo upper shaft and gears.

Wow......I've never seen that before. Crazy...I'll have to look for that from now on with EA82 issues. I'll add it to the long list....haha..but really I love EA82 quick revving great on gas when running right espescially. But they are all dying off quickly.....EJ is the way forward.

And towards the end of the day........Weighed down by what seems like 1000 lbs of mud.

Pics from the Sweet Home, OR mudfest 2014. Last year I lost my clutch.....this year I only lost my liscense plate....lol Most of them are shots of the couple times I got stuck (3 or 4 I think)......But EVERYONE was getting stuck......I did very well for the most part driving around in the sea of slop. 2.2 heads on a 2.5d 1996

I was just at a friends who bought them for a Frankie.......and he was bummed when I showed him that the cometic gasket almost completely BLOCKS the upper ports. None of them have the ports directly above or below the cylinder.

95 - 2.2 going through oil like crazy

It's a pressurized leak.....so you can lose ALOT of oil from it on a few drives. Might not be the only leak.....but probably the one that's causeing the massive oil loss.

doing the rear wheel bearing and uh oh
Use the butt end of a the 36mm socket you used to take off the nut. It should fit nicely into the outer race. Then put a piece of wood or plate over the open end of the socket and hammer that sucka out. Use a dremel to clean up the lip and then use some RTV on teh outer edge of the seal. Let it cure good before assembly and that should hold it in there. The only damage I see is to the area that holds the seal so it should get you back to Montana no problem.....If the seal is shot and it goes bad again, you will be able to get a replacement in MT.

96 LX Impreza Coupe swap to manual from auto
No. in 2002 ish they started using a bigger flange on the r160. I put a 2003 diff into a 90 legacy and we had to change the flange. Mounting will all be the same except maybe the length of the studs in the rear plate.........some are short, some are long depending on the model/year it came from.

Rear diff will mount in directly. HOwever.....the input flange on the 02 may be larger.....just unbolt it and swap the old one.

Rear strut tower?! HELP
There isn't one. First it's already a coilover shock.....not a strut. the top mount bolts into the inside top of the wheelwell. Not from inside.

Subaru H6 Upper Oil Pan Replacement Question

Certainly looks like that's what's happening. Might also want to change the O-ring on the rear cam cap on the passenger side. Fix those 2 things (both very cheap) and evaluate from there.
