Dang. I was hoping it wouldn't take that long. Thanks for the walk-thru tho. Sounds like a project for tomorrow

EA82 heater core
Is there a how-to anywhere around here on how to replace a heater core (in an 87 GL wagon)? I have an 86 parts car, would the cores interchange?

Parts Cars
I might have a wagon that I'm getting rid of in a few weeks, minus the drivetrain and some interior bits...

I'm pretty happy right about now...(question time)
I might take you up on that. I get paid on the 25th, I'll let you know then.

Proof: It does get dirty!
Nice! Even in the same spot subarutex wheeled his wagon!

Rather than start a new thread, I'll bump this one back up. I was going to replace the valve cover gaskets, but when I crawled underneath to check things out, it appears that the driver's side cam seal is what's leaking (I can watch oil drip when the car's running). How hard is it to replace the cam seals?

Finaly Lifted!

Yellow EA82 wagon with matching "bean" trailer
So, last week I was out working in the canyon that goes from ellensburg to yakima, and I saw a yellow ea82 wagon, with yellow rims, and it was pulling a little camper trailer (also yellow), shaped kinda like a bean, heading from yakima to ellensburg. I remember reading about it somewhere (but I cant remember where). Does anyone have any info on it?

how do i take off this fan?
You should be able to loosen the nuts () with a 10 mm wrench. If you can't hold it from spinning, try sticking the belt back on to hold the pulley. If that doesnt work, a screwdriver or small prybar wedged in between 2 of the bolts should do the trick. I'm not sure what would have caused that, maybe something smacked the timing belt cover causing the pulley to break? I'd say if the cam still spins, you're ok, but I'm sure someone else will chime in.

On board air?
Heres a pretty good list of what compressors came in what car: http://www.dakuda.com/jeep/tech/yorkchart.html

I would like to weber it, but for the time being, I'm gonna leave the craptachi on there.

On board air?
I've been doing some reading on using a york for on board air, and it seems to me like the most logical choice. Yeah, stock a/c compressors bolt in, but you have to run another filter to filter out the oil from the air being compressed, but I want a challenge. And from the looks of it, I can build an on board air system for around $100 or less.

powerbuilt tools
I picked up a 2 ton garage jack for $16 the other day, and it seems to work just fine. I was going to pick up a couple sets of jackstands, but for $15 a pair, I'm not sure if I'd trust my life to them. Has anyone had any luck with them? Or is there another cheap-ish brand thats trustworthy?

I'm pretty happy right about now...(question time)
Ok, so I've decided not to do a reseal, it looks like its only leaking oil thru the valve cover gaskets, which a set came with the car, so I'll be replacing them later today. I made it run a little better by swapping in a carb from my other soob, but it dies if I don't keep giving it gas. It seems like its a vacuum issue. Which brings me to my question, what vacuum lines does the car need to run?

I'm pretty happy right about now...(question time)
Drove it home last night:banana: Almost overheated driving thru town (no fan) but cruisin at 50 it did fine. Now all I have to do is get it licensed, clean it up, reseal the motor, and I'll be in business! (oh, and get it to run right)

On board air?
Is there a thread on how to convert an ea82 ac compressor to be an air compressor for on board air? Or is there a write up somewhere? I tried searching, but the search wouldn't look up "on" and "air".

What EJ engines are non-interference?
Is there any certain year that they have more hp/torque? Or are they all pretty much the same?
-
What EJ engines are non-interference?
Thanks guys. Now I have another question, between the EJ18 and EJ22, which one has more power? (I'm guessing the EJ22, but I'd like clarification)
-
What EJ engines are non-interference?
Aside from 90-94 EJ22's, are there any other non-interference EJ's?

Possible Problem
Timing belts? Dirty injectors? Fuel filter? My 87 wagon did almost the same thing last summer when temperatures got up around 90ish, but its carbed and it dieseled.

Needin some advice...
I'll try that sometime. Would using compressed air be a bad idea?
