  1. oh, we're staying on the trails (or at least....I am). I was hoping to find some pics that do the trails here justice....but I can't find any. But seriously, and I honestly mean no offense by this, if you didn't/don't need lo range, you're really not wheeling.
  2. ea82s have a 4x140mm bolt circle, with 13" diameter, and IIRC 5 or 6" wide
  3. someone mentioned that when SJR was talking about lowering the final drive I also don't think the auto would respond well to that. but then again, maybe it would. I've heard that the FWD boxes (EA82) have a lower first gear, I'm thinking about putting that in my D/R box..... the EA82s have a 22:1 crawl ration without any modification. I can't tell you the number of times that my car hasn't been able to get up something simply because it couldn't keep the wheels spinning. even with all the clutch dragging I dared use. haha, yea, I don't think I've EVER used 4WD hi......if I can put it in 4, I put it in lo!
  4. and a tcase opens a whole new can of worms with the front diff mounting, and crossmember.
  5. it'd be sweet if you could put a shorter radiator in there, and remove that lower support, so the bumper really is the first thing things would hit, then put a skidplate that attaches right to the bumper. looks hot man
  6. 6-lug wheels are technically 138.5 another couple mm wouldn't matter that much. we discussed that as soon as that prototype came out, and someone (mcbrat IIRC) used a little proportions with the known rim width to find that the bolt pattern was right. yea, if a set of those showed up in my driveway, they'd be on the loyale real quick (assuming that backspacing wasn't too insane to fit over the shocks and stuff)

  9. I told you it isn't, you yutz it's mounted on the underside of the body right in front of the passenger side rear wheel.
  10. It's been discussed..... but having just tweaked the heck out of the rear crossmember block on a BYB lifted wagon, on a trail that my AA lifted wagon (with smaller tires) had no trouble.......I'd definate get AA or SJR.

  15. I've tried the legacy inner joint onto EA82 shaft.....couldn't make it work, it might be possible, but not easily. the loyale was NA FWD 3AT I know where there's an '86 FWD 3AT GL-10 turbo wagon in a junkyard. will these axles work?

  18. wait....any EA82t with a 5-speed?! even FWD? calebz, if the FWD ones work, I'll have a pair from the junkyard for cheap.....but if not, or if the car isn't there anymore, what do you want for yours?

OK, pretty much the last thing I need for my RX tranny swap into my loyale....the axles. so turbo subarus are pretty rare, even in junkyards around here. so I would like to know which models will have these? is it just all FT4WD 4-cyl EA82s? or did some PT4WD cars have them? yes, I searched, couldn't seem to think of any search keywords that didn't get me 85 billion threads to sort through....
  20. +eleventy-billion and KickAssFlash's mustang is quite possibly the fastest car I've ever ridden in, either that, or his brother's mustang......or my buddies ver 4 STi swap He's at a dyno day this morning, and is going to pick up an '88 GL Wagon that needs some engine work this evening. Don't worry, he'll have that jeep sold in no time
  21. A buddy of mine has an aftermarket turbo timer on his 2.5RSt, it shows his speed, so I suspect yours has the same option, but since there is no electric speed sensor (that I know of anyway ) this option just isn't available on your XT.
  22. Heat. it sounds like you got the inner side off the diff, but are having trouble with the outer side. which, btw, unless you've converted it, is a CVJ, not a DOJ. anyway, if you heat up the metal right over the stub, it'll expand, and come off easier. Mapp works quite well, Acetalene works better if you have access.
  23. goood doggy!! why would he still one of the only lifted subaru sedans in the country.....an incredibly high profile vehicle??? Was your RX there? that would've been a much better target!

  25. oh yea, probably, the one we did was an auto, so it wasn't an issue
