    lift q's

oh yea...all the time, but not hard, just a little noise, hasn't done any damage yet.
  2. I got high tech....I got out my 3lb maul, and made room!

umm...yea, but that's just the exhaust pipe...duct tape would just melt/burn, coat hangers are perfect!
  4. looks awesome austin!!!! now come up here to test 'em! we need to show the heep guys how it's done!
  5. the trim clipped onto the gutter is incredibly flimsy....but the sheetmetal under it is solid!!! WAAYYYY stronger than those stock rails! (I know from experience ) I too want a skid that will protect everything, obviously oil pan/sender, but exhaust, and maybe even a little control arm protection too!
  6. morgan doesn't hate mud because he get's stuck in it , HE just doesn't like getting dirty, he really is better off with A/T's, not to mention the fact that you have to drive for hours at freeway speeds to get to any trails here.
  7. oh man, the quality was too bad...the air filter was DRY!! you can see a couple little spots of water in the bottom of the airbox, but that was it. I did, however, get large quantities of mud on my crank angle sensor....
  8. it's inside the distributer, little wheel with slots in it that a laser reads to see when to have the coil fire. I got mud on mine, and it wouldn't start. pull off the cap, gasket(s), and rotor, and you should see a couple little screw on the top, this pulls of a little plate, and it's under there. I did it with the disty out of the car, but you can do it with it in too.
  9. Sorry for the delay, the idiot that has the camera didn't come up when he said he would, so I had him email it to me...anyway, I edited the sound out (the guy taping had a few inappropriate things to say), and replaced it with a little music. anyway, here it is...enjoy http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=8529&sort=1&cat=500&page=1
  10. yea, but I think that would be a little more predictable. but you still might want to try getting them balanced or something
  11. yep %%% is right, cause 0 is the same either way... I had a GPS in my car, it's only about 5 mph off at 30, but almost 20 @ 80...
  12. removed sway bars?? maybe? I just got my camera back, so I'll be taking a couple new shots in the next couple days.
  13. only other thing I can think of is maybe a CV...might make an unpredictable wobble/click like you describe.
  14. who was? you and archemitis?!? YOU missed out, austin and I had the good time up at gilbert!
  15. 2 things about this: 1) QMan does have an ARB locker in the rear. but he doesn't have an R180...or even a subaru...he's running an isuzu solid axle. 2) yes, there are a bunch of rear diffs that would swap in easy, but the problem is getting a front one that matches. you can't run a 4.44 rear diff (easy with a forester diff, don't even have to borrow from nissan), with the stock 3.90 front! and up to this point, no-one's figured out how to change the front ratio. Thanks for the help, but as tim said, search first. these are old ideas.... oh yea, and XT6's had the 3.9 final ratio, and some came with rear LSD...
  16. no, neither of us tried going up it...but yes, that's the one. same place I came down at C4C
  17. because they're artistic, and AWESOME!!!! even if not that impressive from an offroading/hardcore standpoint.
  18. Hell yea!!! just like to say that I was recording during all three shots very happily in the spectators position for this trip! <-- (first time the chuxwagon has left that ORV park undamaged!) also, you should all know that that pic where the 'mudwagon' is at such an extreme angle, the ground is level under the back wheels. the one on the passenger side is really that far off the ground!!! looks awesome...any good shots of my wagon? I've got a few good ones of you, I'll post 'em from the high-speed @ school tomorrow.
  19. I happen to notice that my ol' '85 had the squiters in the grill, and the '88 had 'em on the hood...and the little holes were there on the '88. so I've had 2 sets of squirters since the beginning of this beast...works awesome!!
  20. Those are sweet pics!!! I love the one of the emblem, very cool! looks like you had a great time!
  21. [hijack]my dad's old (I think mid '70's) goldwing has a 1.8L H6[/hijack]
  22. most of it isn't, except the y...to get it to seal completly (which you're going to need to if you can justify having a snorkel...)
  23. sweet!! what's that light I see on the front?? looks like you've got one fog light under the license plate...
  24. mine either...when I had mine (before it stopped working ), I literally had it velcro'd to the dash above the heat controls. and ran the wires out from behind the clock. I'll look for a pic found one, it's in the dark, but the red display is the CB...
