  1. Nice weather for it today, but too bad it's been so dry. Damage report?
  2. What's the old school way to balance 'em!?!
  3. It's grainy, but I love this pic anyway
  4. Gutter mounted yak rack, some U-bolts and L-brackets. Rock solid and no drilling required with the wiring run up the gutter.
  5. I hadn't even considered this when deciding on drilling the hubs instead, but it may just be the best reason to. It's a lot more work, for nothing but looks...but it would look stock to the unobservant tire monkey.
  6. Ah-ha, that could be why it was suggested on the EA performance write up...it's outdated. Don't know when it was written, but probably before they made the coils in MX. Otherwise, a lot of great info. http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/ea-performance-page/subaru-ea-performance.html
  7. Welcome, and we'd love to see some pics of it. The off-road and trail news sections will be helpful.
  8. Put mine on in Jan, with no probs whatsoever. It's the standard 8140, not the HV, and even used the stock mount. I'd say performance increase is negligible, but it's still an increase. Was it the coil that died on you, or did it fry your disty? At one time, GD was saying that coil is hard on the disty, but you may have just had a bad apple too. Mexican quality control, after all!
  9. A neighbor of mine has a skateboard slide about that size that I've been eyeballing. zzz Isn't there a soob center diff that's a 1.1 ratio? Using that would get you pretty close to 4.10
  10. That statement is just wrong, Will! The 10th...thursday!?! If this run is split up, I'll make it on the 10th.
  11. Must be nice to be taking your time on this one...after that duner module build! I assume it'll be winched, so any bumper plans yet? Maybe the silver tank's, if it's not too heavy.
  12. ^^ +20 That's a clean slate. You should trade me for a badly oxidized and peeling hood in the same color...then you wont feel bad about bashing 'er!
  13. That's what I'd like to do, ideally. Was there new damage done for the insurance claim?
  14. 'Tis a thing of beauty! Hope you didn't get too far with installing the EA71.
  15. De-rusting, I take it? Now may be a good time, if you plan on undercoating it too. I think I'd be cool to make a snow-specific wheeler, with an ATV snow plow installed!
  16. My vote= EA81...easier install and sufficient power with your gearing. Only freeway use would necessitate the EJ
  17. Sounds like a great wheeler, and rusty wheel wells just make tire trimming that much easier! Any good areas to wheel up your way? I've now got my enhanced license, and am searching for more local spots.
  18. Welcome! Soob wheels, peugot, or 5-6 lug conv: http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/wheels/wheels.html Don't know the windshield cost. XT's are always lifted, with 30" swampers and an EJ22 swap.
  19. Yeah, the body looks too nice for Walkering the heck out of it. I'm going to try and attend all the NWOG snow runs this winter...love that stuff!
  20. Welcome, and we love pics here!
  21. Nice move, man! I haven't yet wheeled with a brat or any of the earlier gens...looking forward to it.
  22. take another look
  23. SoobieDoo replied to SoobieDoo's topic in Shop Talk
That is the comprehensive list...thanks, Eric! I've got a pretty decent set up now (minus a leatherman), but I'm hoping others will use this thread.
  24. Sorry to hear that about your grandparents, Jeff!
  25. Good idea, John...that will hopefully fix your unique camber problems. Here's a good link, with no pics left, but still great info: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26281
