  1. Ahha, that's one of the few items that I don't ship for him. I remember sending your lift, though :)

I do like the safari look best, but it's not as practical as the bumper mount. Makes the car more top heavy and creates wind drag, but for me that's better than the bumper mount, as I am constantly accessing the cargo area. In my opinion, that tire mount is the bumper's best feature.

  2. De-rusting, I take it? Now may be a good time, if you plan on undercoating it too. I think I'd be cool to make a snow-specific wheeler, with an ATV snow plow installed!
  3. My vote= EA81...easier install and sufficient power with your gearing. Only freeway use would necessitate the EJ
  4. Sounds like a great wheeler, and rusty wheel wells just make tire trimming that much easier! Any good areas to wheel up your way? I've now got my enhanced license, and am searching for more local spots.
  5. Nice bumper, I think those are one of the best solutions for the spare tire. I'll prob just put mine on top...I like my cargo space too much! May I ask where you got that bumper, I know I've seen it before somewhere!?!

  6. Welcome! Soob wheels, peugot, or 5-6 lug conv: http://www.indysworld.com/80s/general/wheels/wheels.html Don't know the windshield cost. XT's are always lifted, with 30" swampers and an EJ22 swap.
  7. Yeah, the body looks too nice for Walkering the heck out of it. I'm going to try and attend all the NWOG snow runs this winter...love that stuff!
  8. Nice move, man! I haven't yet wheeled with a brat or any of the earlier gens...looking forward to it.
  9. That is the comprehensive list...thanks, Eric! I've got a pretty decent set up now (minus a leatherman), but I'm hoping others will use this thread.
  10. Sorry to hear that about your grandparents, Jeff!
  11. Good idea, John...that will hopefully fix your unique camber problems. Here's a good link, with no pics left, but still great info: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=26281
  12. Should have been #4 or better, in my opinion. While the Nissan Titan is a great truck, it's just another full-size. Rancheros and Caminos may have come out first, but they're not a compact, fuel efficient, 4WD!
  13. I'm out too...not going alone.
  14. The real intent of this thread was for gear specifically needed for off-roading. I agree with Twitch, in the respect that sometimes you need to prepare for wilderness survival, and sometimes not. When NW Washington offroad went up to the Custer hole a couple of months back, I could have walked home...along the freeway...and past a couple of gas stations.
  15. Nice winch, Bill! I plan on picking up one of those when we go south, so we should test/abuse yours at reiter or someplace Started on front bumper mods, replaced timing belts, and am just now finishing a custom tow bar.
  16. Just a week off now...who's coming?
  17. Nice, I think having more lights like that is more versatile. Mine are about equal in wattage, but only two lights. Does your single high beam work to compare the range with? If they're floods, you could angle the outer ones out for better side view, then swap the center bulbs with 100W or better.
  18. Yeah with an open diff I'm not going for anything like that, but that's good news only those are closed.
  19. Here's all you need: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50768 Don't even look at a chiltons
  20. That's some real nice damage!!! I'd like to see the trails that did that
  21. Ah yes...the sheer power of an old soobie. MWWAAHAHAHAHA! No, I'm never putting the stock wheels back on; I'd have to drill them out to 6-lug. The weber swap probably compensated just enough to satisfy me.
  22. That's great! Where did you go, how did you do, and most importantly... did you get any pics pulling a Sammy out!?!
  23. That makes sense, depending on what's trailered. As long as the tow-ee doesn't exceed the weight of the tow-er.
