  1. Welcome Check out the sticky in the off road section for great lift info!
  2. The stock electric fan is already set up like that, so try it out and keep a close eye on the temp. Just be prepared with some wire strippers and wing nuts to make it run continuously, if needed. If your cooling system is good, (for an EA82) then it won't overheat if run all the time. Come summer you may want a second fan, but your location may not even need it! You never mentioned if this is carbed or FI? A SPFI or EJ swap, if already FI, would give you the most gains in power and economy. Otherwise, for more power let me sell you some turd polish.
  3. I like it, but there is already a subaruownersgroup.com and forum. How about Subaru Owners Offroad Band? The url is available too.
  4. What brand is that roof rack, if I may ask? I like that it doesn't need a base rack to mount.
  5. Yeah, that's just a little off-camber Bill !!! Where's this place at???
  6. Sounds good...then I won't have to wheel with Heeps all the time! I can provide a pass report on Lolo at anytime after Oct.
  7. This is all you need, along with a FSM and maybe a chiltons: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=69741
  8. Hey, it's a nice show car for now, maybe even win an award at WCSS...best sound system or something like that. Good idear on reinforcing the bumper more with a skidplate. You should bring it up to the walker campout...I'm sure nothing will happen to it
  9. I like the front hitch receiver...will prob do that on my bumper. Not so sure about using it with a big winch, though. Even stock bumpers have more reinforcement than that to the brackets. :-\ As is, I'd use a smaller winch just for self-recovery. I vote off road rig; whether or not you even take it out on gravel, it's still capable. ~E
  10. Did that alignment work out for you, how does she handle? I'm afraid that mystery water leak may be blown HG's.
  11. Yes, MT's are better off-road, but AT's are hardly worthless: 27" General AT2's slinging MUD!!! Granted, I've only been to Walker valley once...but no one had to pull me out.
  12. Good point...Vancouver's a big city, and is actually much closer than some of us members in OR. will be. How 'bout NOOB: Northwest Oregon Or Battleground!?!
  13. Heck ya!!! I posed the idea a while ago, but there wasn't any interest: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=110449&highlight=hood A large group from all over would be good, so members closer together can wheel more often. For example, I won't be up to driving from hood to browns camp all the time. No name idears yet. :-\
  14. ...a lot of that, and I do believe any body lift will require a steering extension. Now, if you're talking a suspension lift to start with the 1.5's, then no. You won't likely find an exact measurement, even for a specified size like 4", because the specific vehicle can vary from others. Or get several different sizes of knuckles, and you may be able to combine them to the right length. I'd be prepared to weld, though.
  15. Can't wait to see that bumper installed. Good find on those bad struts too!
  16. I think it looks better than before when they were mounted to the yak X-bar. Solid as hell, too!!!

  18. ...fortunately I've got 70mph zones here... Haven't pushed more than 80 yet, but still have plenty of pedal!
  19. Sure, I'm picking these up for other soobers: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=111352

  21. I found some deals that just couldn't be passed up Wire decking from my work, for industrial pallet racking: Has about 2,000 lb capacity (properly supported), powder coated, and fits a yak rack like a glove. The center support just touches the factory crossbars, so it has some additional support there too. It's not a basket, and I like it like that. It will be easier to unload the spare, and nothing should be put up there without straps, anyway. Still need to mount the lights up. Wireless remote 3,000lb ATV winch: $40 new!!! Comes with all the goodies, but I'll still bring the comealong just in case at that price.
  22. Glad I could help. That's a nice, simple harness you've got there...I guess mine will look the same, if I ever get around to wrapping it! Yes, the banana is the best.
  23. I'll get it out of storage tomorrow to show you pics. It's a nice one, but I can't remember the brand now. :-\
  24. Oh yeah...she's prob more experienced than I. My hometown portland/metro area doesn't get much compared to here. She used to drive large American RWD's with baldish tires in it so... The VLSD would sure be easier and cheaper to get, though. That would just require hybrid axles, correct?
  25. Looks like a solid plan there...you can't go wrong with that recipe! I've got a receiver mounted bike rack never used, if interested PM me.
