  1. Here try this link: http://www.carburetion.com/Weber/weberdiagrams.asp Ed
  2. Here is what I've been using : http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Detail.aspx?R=BK_7001006_0254158357 purchase price won't break the bank, and the refills are cheep enough. Ed
  3. Heres a link to one of the other forums that I'm in where we were talking about putting a subaru engine into a snow trac: http://www.forumsforums.com/3_9/showthread.php?t=29889 Some of the other posts might give you ideas as to how some of the snow cats are put together. Ed
  4. FYI: I just went to NAPA to pick up some parts. And noticed they had a-piller pods on an end cap, I didn't note the price ( I don't like sticker shock!!). Ed
  5. What I did was to put a manual gage on my 86'. You take the sending unit off, cut the threaded end off close to the can. Then drill and tap the cut end for 1/8" NPT. You'll then be able to have a good idea of what you oil pressure really is. Regards Ed
  6. Well, Hopefully one of the members with a FSM will chime in. Did you check to see if your getting power to the voltmeter? Or to the cluster? Ed
  7. Ok, one last thing to try. with the key in the start position, check pins 13,14,15 on the ECU. those are the inputs for starting and charging ( according to my chiltons). If good, then problem is in ECU. It may have good spark but the ECU isn't providing it at the right time would be my best guess. Ed
  8. My lincoln has the pigtail for a dryer on it. I made an extension cord out of a 100' length of 10/3 for it. Ed
  9. Well, I got the 86' last May as a parts car to fix the wifes 87'. But, it was in better shape than the 87' was. So... New front axles, New front struts, Head gaskets, timing belts, radiator ect...And another roo is back on the road. Yes, Its 4wd, D/R, 5sp. The front seats are shot, so a trip to LKQ u-pull-it is in order. And still have to find a Y-pipe for it and replace the home made one. Ed
  10. Rick Congrats on the new toys. I agree a bottle cart is in order. Next you'll want a 4 1/2" Grinder, and a good stick welder( handles rusty metal better) try for an AC/DC rig, Oh... bout 200+ amps. I've got an old lincoln that I use for the nasty stuff. Ed
  11. A better test is the block or combustion gas test. Its a chemical test that changes color when exposed to exhaust gases. Check your local radiator shops, for most of them its standard equipment. But head gaskets are a good bet. Ed
  12. The Vancouver yard has an 82' fwd, an 83' and a 84' 4wd. BTW, the 84' has the power steering pump w/bracket for an EA81. there is also a 85'/86' wagon there EA82T, 5sp DR, and rear disc brakes:slobber:. Didn't get any farther than that so could be more. Ed
  13. It has both belts, both tensioners, and the idler. IMHO, Not a bad deal at all. Ed
  14. Hey SoobieDoo FYI: I just bought a set for my 86' from ebay. The seller was theimportexperts. They are over there by Bill. The brand is PCI. Total was $67.58 thats with tax and shipping via UPS. They shipped them out on MON and I had them TUES night. Ed
  15. You said you had the same problem w/other carb on it. Another thought, have you checked for a vacuum leak where the intake bolts to the heads? Your sure you've capped off all the un-needed ports on the manifold? What about the EGR gasket or the EGR valve, when was it cleaned? Not mocking you, just double checking your trouble shooting as its easy to over look something. Ed
  16. How about fiberglass? I've used it to repair the rusted out spots on horse trailers, and as long as you can grind back to shiny metal, it seems to hold up ok. Ed
  17. Well, The radiator that I ordered from 1-800-radiator came in. A Modine metal tanked, single row! When I called their Portland warehouse, the guy told me that I couldn't tell a single from a two row! Talk about getting me PO'd in a los vegas heartbeat. An inspection mirror and the depth guage on my calipers showed the spects matched a proliance 43-3935 aka. CU935, Modine# 43-2361, ready-rad #43-1255/ 1R2361. Yup, then he tried to tell me that they don't make a single row radiator. Oh, I'm not sure which is hotter Me or the phone lines. Needless to say, its on the UPS truck on its way back to them. And yes, I've already contacted the bank and contested the payment. Another case of CUSTOMER NO SERVICE. Plus, I'm out the $15 to ship it back! They wanted me to pay $159 for something that I can get for under a $100. Makes me wonder WHAT these people are smoking! On second thought, maybe I don't want to know! END of Rant I was told that the 2 row radiator (ready-rad# 43-3698) is in short supply nation wide. So, it looks like a trip to LKQ is in order. I may have to have one recored. Ed
  18. Well, I just ordered a NEW 2row radiator from 1-800-radiators web site and talked w/their customer service rep. Its coming FEDx, suppose to be here WED. So, we'll see what $159 gets us. They said bolt in fit and life time warranty. As to the question of dual vs; single row. Your looking at being able to cool more fluid w/the same amount of air flow. So if the thermostat is doing its job, then the engine will be at operating temp, and as things corrode, ie. scale. Then you don't have surprises between cooling system flushes. We'll see how it handles the 100deg days. Ed
  19. Its running dual fans. Tried asking for turbo radiator for a wagon but both CSK & Rock auto show same applications and part numbers. If thats what their parts pullers have to work with no-wonder they seem confused, THEY ARE! Ed
  20. Ok, They don't list a 2row radiator for the wagon, and I don't want to fry the EA81. Any ideas, thoughts, Ect... I've even looked at ones for an 83' EA81 wagon. Ed Just looked at the mounting spects. Both are type C. I'm tempted to buy and try.
  21. I've been on several auto parts web sites looking at NEW radiators to fit the wifes 87' WG. With the 90 deg temps we've been having. It's been running a lot hotter than I'd like, (210 on the manual gauge). My question is what's the difference between the hatchback radiator and one for the wagon? :-\ I'd want to substitute the 2 row HB radiator, for the single row one. CSK part #433698, rockauto shows the same #, but better price. Ed
  22. It WILL fit an EA81 with the stock carb and air cleaner. The only place it hits is the air cleaner bracket and you can grind or file the 1/8" off the ear to get the clearance needed to tighten the belt. This is the EA81 that I put in the wifes 87' EA82. Ed
  23. Welcome to the board. You've already ID the engine as an EA82, the year is unknown, so figure 85' and up. Stock they had a hitachi carb, many people pull them and put a WEBER carb on them, If you'll do a search for weber you'll find a lot of info. Ed
  24. Gary I'm having to replace the boots on the wifes car, and several of the ones that I've looked at have a groove for a zip tie. Ed
  25. You have 2 lines that run from the trans to the radiator, other than that I'd check the modulator valve on the right side of the trans (might have a pin hole leak) however there is normally some smoke if the engine is burning ATF. Unc
