  1. i dont think ill be able to make it, the whole unemployment thing has left me without any money to make it up there.
  2. decisions are hard to make sometimes. i say that you should fix it and sell it to fund other projects.
  3. i want those wheels, i love the rally look of em.
  4. you know you want to get me a jdm sti front clip and tranny. lol, very wishfull thinking on my part, ill just take a japanese model from the car shows, preferably one of the subaru girls.
  5. im sure that they would not work with the ea engine, if im not mistaken, its a completly different design.eea componants work with ea engines and ej works with ej.
  6. without pulling a drive shaft, if you tow an awd car on a dolly, not only can you hurt the center diff, but you also run the rsk of having the car jump the dolly and go outta control.even if the car is in neutral, the transmission is still linking both sets of wheels and can cause serious damage. thats why i always insist on a flat bed to move my cars if they have to be towed.
  7. i dont reccomend the tow dolly, its a good chance that it will end up in disaster.
  8. it will work as long as the tranny in the car its going into is also a 3.9. you just have to make sure the gearing matches on the final drive, otherwise, youll end up with drive line wind up, or binding.
  9. i say that you should spring for a flatbed tow truck, just to be on the safe side. i trust not hte tow dolly on a 4wd, or awd car. good luck though. if its dual range 5 spd, it should be fine, but if its full time 4wd or awd, i wouldnt leave tires on the ground without disconnection the drive shaft, its too easy to have the car jump the dolly if there is power transfer from the wheels on the ground to the wheels in the dolly, even if in neutral.
  10. stuff for the impreza will most likely fit the legacy, but shouldnt this be in the new gen forum? good luck and be careful, you might be better off doing an engine swap, you can get em for nea the same as some of the aftermarket turbo kits, that and they are more reliable. the n/a engines arent built for turbo charging, so if you go the after market turbo route, be careful.
  11. as for the head lights, check the screws under the steering column, sometimes one of the longer screws gets into the selector circuts and prevents it from going into anything but high beams. i had that issue on mine, it took me a couple weeks to figure that out. oh yeah, congrats on the rx. i think you should keep it at its current rid hight and get some 15" pugs and rally it, but thats just my opinion.
  12. ill try to make it, but it all depends on funding, im not sure if i have enough to make it up there. ill try though.
  13. technically, the svx is the xt, just revamped. it even kept the same name in japan.
  14. i like the lsd i got, granted, im not rock crawling either. im into rally style fun, everything from tarmac to gravel. im wanting protective gear as well as style points and go fast bits. shid plates are a difinate. brush gausrds would be cool, off roading style and maybe rally style with like 4-6 places to mount some hella or piaa driving lights. as for style points, i want some kind of sporty looking wide body kit for the rx and maybe an adjustable turing style rear wing and maybe some front winglets for the front edge of the fenders. maybe a modern styled front bumper cover. and for go fast bits, im thinking of lightened components. mainly what id like to see is a light weight drive shaft and flywheel. maybe if possible, forged internals like pistons and lightened and balanced cranks. i also like the idea that was mentioned about the hubs that are mad to acconodate more common style rims, maybe a hub with 4X100 or 5X100 for the tuner rims that are everywhere. another for safety would be a big brake kit and maybe a rear e-brake relocation kit. just some of my ideas again. im not actually going to rally race my car as i cant afford it, not yet anyways, but id still like to know that i could take it to the track and have some fun, then go play on gravel roads in the same car. eh, i have lofty ambitions. peace tim
  15. looks like im enjoying the fine taste of foot. i know ive seen all alu diffs on cars ive worked on, i guess the fact that i havent been under the cars in a while and the lack of sleep combined to make me an idiot. well, i will stand down now before i say something else that i will regret.
  16. thats why they use bash gaurds on the rear diffs, they are not cast iron. at least not from the factory, not that ive ever seen on a suby.i know that the rx i have has an aluminum diff as does my impreza.
  17. last i checked, the diff housings were cast aluminum. i see cast iron on pick up trucks but i havent seen em i subies.
  18. shady, you gots a pm.
  19. all this talk of putting turrents into subies, i cant help but to think of building up a bad rump roast paintball tank. aww crap, now you got me thinking again, and thats not good for my wallet.
  20. hmmm, sofar, what can you make and what cant you make?
  21. also, you should have a line of product that is for the people with a tight budget.
  22. if you are worried about paraffin wax in the oil, dont use oil from pennsylvania, like quakerstate or pynnsoil, or their side companies, they have wax in em as well. if you are worried about the engine already being run with a waxy oil, just keep it running with waxy oil, as long as you dont change it to a non waxy oil, it shouldnt build up or cause any issues.
  23. hmmm, lets see, think of rally cars. id like to see rally style wide body kits, skid plates, big brake kits, rally style light bars and hood mounted light pods, pre fabed roll cages, light weight body panels, carbon fivber hoods and trunk lids, functional rear spoilers, light weight alloy rims in like 15"-17", seat brackets for aftermarket racing seats, aluminum drive shafts, any theng else one might need for a rally car.
