  1. all this talk of putting turrents into subies, i cant help but to think of building up a bad rump roast paintball tank. aww crap, now you got me thinking again, and thats not good for my wallet.
  2. hmmm, sofar, what can you make and what cant you make?
  3. also, you should have a line of product that is for the people with a tight budget.
  4. if you are worried about paraffin wax in the oil, dont use oil from pennsylvania, like quakerstate or pynnsoil, or their side companies, they have wax in em as well. if you are worried about the engine already being run with a waxy oil, just keep it running with waxy oil, as long as you dont change it to a non waxy oil, it shouldnt build up or cause any issues.
  5. hmmm, lets see, think of rally cars. id like to see rally style wide body kits, skid plates, big brake kits, rally style light bars and hood mounted light pods, pre fabed roll cages, light weight body panels, carbon fivber hoods and trunk lids, functional rear spoilers, light weight alloy rims in like 15"-17", seat brackets for aftermarket racing seats, aluminum drive shafts, any theng else one might need for a rally car.
  6. i got the sedan. the little wire that connects the latch to the lock sticks in the unlocked position when you open the trunk, i just have to give i little tug and it latches fine.
  7. i never leave that much of a body in one peice. turned out to be a sticky latch, gotta pull on the little wire that runs to the lock to get it to close. i kinda forgot that this thread existed.
  8. also, check the seals around the tail lights.
  9. you should get the engine rebuilt, maybe get it worked over a little bit while its out. if you end up doing an engine swap, you should look into something a bit better than the 2.2, maybe wrx swap or the like. just my opinion, you get all the turbo badging on the car, might as well have aturbo to back it.
  10. hmmmm, i wonder if there is any way to visually tell them apart.
  11. my guess is that the rings might be worn out, but thats just from my experiance. stick with the car, it will get better, well, maybe after a few $.
  12. check out the game tokyo extreme racer 3, they put the xt turbo in it and have all sorts of body kits in it.
  13. i hear that, thats why im slowlly making mine black, especially now that ive decided to keep it, again.
  14. look for performance pars fpr the impreza 2.5rs... its the same engine and drivetrain. aftermarket turbo is a bad idea on a n/a engine. they do make kits for it though, but i havnet seen one last more than a couple months with out doing an impression of a granade. well, maybe not quite that bad. but it wanst good.look into getting exhaust and intake mods. here is a site that sells stuff for all the lines the outback, if you have the real one, is basically a beefed up legacy. just check out that site, even if you dont use them, its a starting point. http://www.rallitek.com/catalog.asp?VEH_ID=6 hmmm, looking at the turbo kit they sell there, it might be doable, but i would still be leary of it. peace tim c.
  15. they redesigned the heads for better coolant flow in the phase II heads. that and the phase one cars, after being fixed, they generally use better parts to fix it, thus preventing the issues from returning. atleast, thats what they did at the shop i worked for.
  16. if left in 2wd, which is for towing purposes, it will eventually fry the solinoid that controls the center diff and make the car fwd for good. i dont reccomend driving far with it like that. there are a few that have done it and not had any issues, but it is more likely to burn out. putting the fuse in puts the solinoid into 100% or somthing like that, basically turnes on the center diff all the way an disconeects the rear out put from the tranny. something like that anyways.
  17. sweet deal, you finally got em. im feeling a rx meet this summer. i should be getting mine back on the road soon as i get a new job. just gotta find a new radiator for it and i should be set.
  18. yup, radiators.com is the only place i found one for my car. radiators.com is the supplioer for advanced auto parts, at least thats what they told me last night.
  19. waste of money. looks like it will cause a reduction of power rather than an improvement.
  20. id just have her take my to wendy's for lunch and a frosty. i wouldnt feel right taking her money.
  21. its not that its heavier, granted that does make a difference, its that the struts mount about an inch and a half higher in the body of the newer imprezas. i compared both sets of struts side by side and the newer units were noticable longer.
  22. it WILL lift your car about 1.5-2". i put in 2004 wrx suspension all the way around my car and got lifted but stiffer suspension. i reccomend looking into like ver5 sti parts that will fit right, either that or keeping your stuts and using the newer springs. with the springs from the newer cars, you will get a much stiffer ride than stock due to the fact that the newer body styles weigh in about 400 pounds more than the gc style cars.
