  1. are you saying it has too much sideways movement? If so it's the shifter bushing.. it's the part that slides on the shift rod on the transmission held in with a roll pin (tight area) when they get worn you get a lot of side to side play... Sometimes (had my car for 2 years now) I still can go into the wrong gear because of how sloppy it feels.. harmful? No but I don't really want anyone else to drive the car until I replace that part. btw I have a 95 Legacy Wagon
  2. damn I love my car I made $50 for just helping cars out last night My friend's MB E320 could not make it out of the parking lot and not in his own driveway so I helped him all the way home. I did run into a stuck outback he tried to push into a parking lot that at the time 12" already fell I tried to pull him out but he was stuck good $5 just for trying.. It's going to take days for the clutch smell to go... I did get myself a little stuck I had to slow to downshift which I hit some packed snow which highsided me.. however in 2 min going back and forth i muscled my way out Going to have a family member do a video of me since my damn tripod mount on my camera broke.
  3. yeah it's a pain to get to but worth it to have all your doors to work again.. I did mine when it was pouring rain out in my parking space.
  4. I wanna put wrx seats in my 95 because I have the same issue with my legacy after 4+ hours my lower back starts to hurt bad.
  5. yay your snow is finally coming here 6-10 inches to play in
  6. I'm a little lost with the OP are you saying when you connect the battery again the locks work? I had to replace my door lock timer because mine just downright failed (they have two relays on them) thats why you hear them click.
  7. I think it was a defect if you ask me.. the thing is the whole tie rod spins if you just try to unscrew it.. I think the part was only like $18 or 20 so it's not that big of a deal right now but my aliment is off still.
  8. My outer tie rod did the same with the nut.. I think I'm going to have to cut the bolt off and just buy a replacement outer rod.
  9. I have a question right now I got 10W 30 in the car now but sometimes on some cold morning my lifters will be loud for maybe like 3 min and you can hear when they get oil because it will get much quieter. I wonder would 10W 20 be better off?
  10. nothing just the right rear camber was off what i cant remember is what happened to the bent wheel.. it was so bent it was rubbing on the rear strut tower.
  11. I had this happen to me in my 98 Forester the road had a crown in it and I tried to do a 180 to turn by spinning.. well it kept going until it hit.. bent wheel and some suspension parts..
  12. what causes clutch shudder anyways? I notice it happens if I don't have my revs up enough when taking off
  13. I've always wanted to know if the hood would fit in the rear of a new gen wagon.
  14. I can check again but i dont think i will see anything funny
  15. Has anyone have the abs act funny in cold weather this morning went to start up and the abs light come on but after I got gas it was off and I had abs again..
  16. wow people still like this old block.. I heard the heads don't flow well at all.
  17. Yeah but for all the people that rave over these cams very little info is given.. What's the turn around time for getting the cams back? since this car is my DD. I'm just wondering how 3 things it effects on a Ej22 1.) idle 2.) midrange 3.) upper power band Wont I gain more lower end?
  18. I got a thread like this at sl-i.net I never made one here because I did not think it was allowed. http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13331
  19. How often do we need to change compressor oil? I've had mine for about a year now but it's only seen maybe like 5-6 hours of use.
  20. really? I thought those were the plastic separator plates.
  21. I don't understand why they throw down so much salt.. why not use more of a sand mix.. that reminds me I need to put back in my fender liners before I get salt where I really don't want it. Also winter tires were mounted yesterday
