  1. Thanks, I'd been meaning to go download one for the ea82 series.
  2. Looks good. And it's a total sleeper too. Are you still running it without front axles in it?
  3. By set do you mean 2 pads or 4? A lot of the pads I've priced come with 4 to cover both left and right calipers. And does this cover just front or front and rear brakes?
  4. My turbo wagon had one of those on it when I got it. It was crushed where they had used a strap wrench on it. But the really funny part was the crush washer that goes on the drain plug had been put on the inside of filter instead. Napa gold filters are the only kind I use. Been using them for years on all my rigs and have never had a single problem.
  5. Bummer about the car, glad you're ok though. Hope someone does have before pics for ya, I had a Caprice I had just finished restoring and it was totalled before I could get pics of it. It's crappy when all you've got to look at it is a squished hulk.
  6. Well, I for one have never seen one in person. Weird
  7. Looks cool for sure. I'm guess it's a Legacy turbo motor from the looks of it.
  8. Looks like a good canidate for a small block chevy mounted in the bed. Then you just need to build a subframe and move the rearend further back.
  9. I'm down in Longview all the time, mostly to go shopping at Bob's or eat at Red Lobster. Plus, the wife went to school at LCC. It's not that bad, but no offense, I'm not moving there anytime soon.
  10. Sounds like fun to me. I've got one out of my truck I'm thinking about modifying to install in my Hatch. I was going to shorten it and mount it on the back of the rear seat. That way with the seat folded down it's easy to reach behind and grab in a hurry. You never know when it might come in handy out on the trails. Psst John, check your PMs.
  11. So did you ever do your swap? I'm planning the same thing for my Turbo wagon and was wondering if changing the crossmembers was truly necessary. How much difference is there in the mounts? Moreso, how hard is it to bolt up the pedal and clutch assemblies? Will there be cutting and drilling needed?
  12. To put a twist on your two mock-up paint jobs, I'd mask off the outer lip and paint the rest of the wheel black. Sort of what I'm planning for my WRX wheels.
  13. Thankfully I live in the middle of nowhere, no one cares that I'm driving my wagon around an exhaust that ends at the downpipe. I concur though, you'll miss it once you put all that stuff back in. Your butt dyno will be constantly telling you something is missing.
  14. Umm no, the differences between the Impreza wagon and the 92x is sheetmetal and luxo. perks. It won't matter if GM keeps thinking along these lines though: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6811980/ I refuse to comment on on the B9 beyond saying that anything GM touches in the last 10 years turns out rotten in the end. And you can see the GM influence all over that thing. It's a sad day for the Chevy and Subaru man that I am.
  15. That thing looks awesome, a lot of well done fab. work. Though I'd be afriad to drive it on any of the roads around here with that FMIC sitting so low and exposed. :-\
  16. Ok here goes; Yes it was simple, very simple. The injector for the cylinder that was not firing was...unplugged. It now runs superb with plenty of power. The tranny shifts into 3rd a little slow, but I'm going to try and find an RX tranny to put into it. Anyone who has a lead on one, drop me a note. Needless to say, my father in law can keep my hatch for a while longer. I'm thinking big for this wagon. Thank you all for playing along.
  17. A couple of you are really close, I'll post the answer before I leave work this afternoon.
  18. For what it's worth, when I talked to TWE last week they had no plans for another run of headers & dps unless there were enough preorders to warrant it. :-\
  19. Background: My father in law needed a cheap car to get him through the winter, 4wd was a bonus. I loaned him one of my hatchbacks until we could find something else. Then I came across a '85 4x4 Turbowagon here in the marketplace. The price was higher than he wanted to spend and it had some engine trouble. (Wouldn't fire on all cylinders.) After waiting on it a little while, I decided to go for it and we made an offer and bought ourselves a car with a few gremlins. Before I could get my hatchback returned I had to make the car roadworthy. Driving it the 40 miles back to my house proved to be quite the task. The car wouldn't idle and refused to accelerate beyond 40 mph. ( I got it to do 50 downhill once though) I was starting to think we might have bought a car that needed an immediate engine transplant. In the few days I had before I could start looking the car over, I had time to do a little reading on the board and get an idea of what I was getting myself into. Yesterday I finally had some time off to dive into the problem. For anyone wanting to play along: Based on the fact that it wouldn't idle, was hard to start and had zero power. (Remember, it's only firing on 3 cylinders) Feel free to guess what I found the problem to be. I'll post the answer to what I found later today.
  20. Dude that's pretty awesome, that's as good as a stock WRX makes. I'm looking forward to hearing how the TD04 performs. You've more than encouraged me to build my new wagon to beat my WRX.
  21. Looks like lots of fun, I'm totally envious. We have a sweet snow trail by my house but it's been turned into solid 4 inch ice by the amount of traffic up and down it this month. It's too dangerous to attempt at the moment. Can't wait until we get more snow so I can make a trip up there with my camera.
  22. Yeah at first glance it does look very similar. Of course if we want to see some subies up to their gills in water, there's plenty of pics floating around. Hehe, get it, 'floating' ...um yeah it's been a long day.
