  1. Sounds like you've got almost all your bases covered, I've got some non Subaru advice though. Take lots of cash if you plan on eating inside the park.
  2. Could be a hanging caliper or maybe a bearing issue. I had a car once where the rubber brake line had seperated internally and it wouldn't release the brakes from the rotor. You'd have to get the wheel off and look things over real close to get an idea of what could be happening.
  3. Sounds rotten to me. It's not like working on old Subies is overly difficult. No worse than my old Chevys at the very least. Slightly off topic, but the Caprices|Impalas were almost identical mechanically from '77 to '96.
  4. Are you looking at the Turbo or NA version? That makes a big difference too. I have a '02 5spd WRX and an '04 AT WRX. The cockpit configuration is a bit different in the Foresters, but my auto car is much more comfortable to drive than the stick. In the case of the WRXs the Autos get the more advanced AWD system too. Don't know about Foresters. Drive both see which one feels better to you. Both will do you very well in adverse weather.
  5. I've gotten used to it now, I'll probably leave it as it is. On my '84 the ignition is so sloppy the keys fall out all the time. I lost them once on a logging road because it bounced out and fell out where the shifter boot had been removed.
  6. People are stupid if they fall for this marketing ploy. Carter was willing to make me a sweet deal on an STi, but I couldn't workout the insurance and opted for a WRX instead.
  7. Cat? What's that. All I have is a straight pipe with a glass pack at the end.
  8. You think that's bad? Try driving my Hatch after using my '04 WRX as a daily driver. I kept having to remind myself that passing wasn't going to happen unless I had a lot of room to get up to speed.
  9. Didn't he just install a Weber in the Brat? Bummer he can't take it with him to enjoy it. :-\
  10. Having missed attending the show, I really want to meet up with some of you guys and hit the trails, but there's no way my new Hatch will be ready in time for Labor day.
  11. Glad I'm not the only one that's come across this. I have an 88 2wd Hatch that has an off sized nut on the left front axle. Haven't had time to figure out what size it is yet. It's definitely a reman. axle, it says so on the tag I found on it. No manufacturer name though. :-\
  12. It's more work than I'm capable of, but I really like the idea. Plus, it looks good and seem to perform quite well. Nice job
  13. Sweet, thanks for the link GD, that's exactly what I've been looking for.
  14. It's somewhere around 2500 to 3000 on the Imprezas, probably similar on a Forester. Of course mine comes on at about 1500 now.
  15. Sweet, I'm from there and still have family in Snohomish, but have never seen any 360s scooting around town during my visits. What part of Snoho are you in?
  16. Congrats man, that's cool. My wife is very tolerant of my Subies. But, parts hunting would probably be where she draws the line.
  17. They're painted, 3 silver, 1 black. I'll probably shoot them all black once I replace the bent one. I can't believe we made it either. Won't try it again anytime though.
  18. hehe, I only use IRC when I'm looking to "evaluate" new CDs and Software.
  19. The funny thing is, last I checked, unemployment was WORSE in Oregon than Washington. Looks like it doesn't create that many jobs. What I respect is intelligent people, no matter what they do for a living. So far, I haven't come across any that pump gas for a living. And the fire hazard thing is total bs. The huge puddle that was left when the guy sprayed the Hatch with gas is worse than I've ever done.
