  1. I went to harry's in Hazelton last wknd. there is nothing there that you would be interested in. There were about 3 EA-81's but nothing older. They were virtually untouched. Craploads of early impreza's but nothing "old skool" Of course there are ea-82's there but nothing that really jumped out at me...
  2. nice ride..... which side do they put the steering wheel on down there? Welcome!
  3. i'm about 10 min away from where you will get on the turnpike (I-76) (reamstown). If you want emergency contact #'s I'll give em to ya but I won't be around to hang out....I'll be at work most likely.
  4. links to a meet a long time ago.... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/data/500/254Apr13_17.jpg http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/data/500/254Apr13_26.jpg http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/data/500/254Apr13_01.jpg
  5. That thing was owned/built by a great guy that went by the SN of "EJ". One time awhile back i was in that car when we went offroading....it bogged out in some water and I just sat there as the water poured into the car. I started throwing everything onto the back seat so it didn't get wet. i sat there with my legs up in the air b/c the water was filling the passinger footwell. ahhhh the good times. If I can find some pics I'll post them for ya....
  6. I personally think goodyear tires are way over priced and the goodyears on my impreza are deafining at highway speeds. My garage man don't like them either. Seriously they are so loud that it sounds like i have wheel bearings going bad. Some of the best tires I have ever owned (especially on a 1st gen legacy) were generic no name tires. BTW, I saw the pics of emily in the wagon thread....she looks beautiful to me no matter what!
  7. slide...: you are so my hero! that car is hot! Nice list of mods too! One suggestion: factory fogs.
  8. Today at the JY I saw a (85,86,87 whatever) gl-10 wagon with dig dash. Yeah nothing special right.... BUT.... you know that cubbie hole down below your radio...well on this one there was gauges in it. SERIOUSLY....FACTORY GAUGES in it. It was for oil pres. and volts. Trust me it wasn't some sort of add on aftermarket crap it was the real deal. Anyone ever seen something like this? I wish I had a camera phone sooooo bad today. Anyone even have something like this? Should I grab next time I'm there?
  9. gonna raise the bar here. This is the wagon I just traded a few months back...it was one of those things "I wanted it but should have never bought it" type of deals. (05 OBS SE)
  10. you bet they are..... they totally made the car. It was sort of lame before I put them on. The wheels and the tint really brought it together....
  11. how do I make the pic come up in the post???? here is link: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=8714
  12. is that the wagon that says tonka on it? if so he still has it (was at carlisle this past show)
  13. just kick the door open and pull the trim for the a-pillar and use one of those testers that has the pointy probe on it. poke the wires till it lights up.
  14. I lost track here but did anyone answer your ques. about the wires to the dome light? If I remember correctly (been a bunch of years) the wires run down the a-pillar on the drivers side. I tapped into them back in the day for my alarm system. I really like the razorblades though.... thinking. you know my friend had a jeep once that had a remote alarm. when it went off it paged you and you could come out with a baseball bat and "serve justice" he did too once or twice.
  15. ROFLAFAO (subaru chop shop)
  16. but what about the driver/drivers????? Are they going to be any good on the dirt?
  17. I like it heavier b/c I feel it lubicates better. I also consider most of my driving as "severe duty" so 5w30 doesn't cut it in my book. I know what you are saying about a constant temp. but I feel your motor is going to work a little harder when you are in southern Utah and the outside temp gauge says 117* going 80 mph as opposed to 65 on a PA freeway in 40* temps.....but that is just my opinion.... Brian: yeah I go to him...was just there today at 2:30
  18. Brian (BMM001): who is your local independant subaru garage you go to? Just wondering....
  19. no loss in economy here either. I don't like 5w30 only b/c back in the olden days....90 legacy 2.2 if you read the manual it told you not to run it unless it was really cold. It is not intended for "high speed driving" as they say someting like that. My impreza 1.8 as we speak has 15w40 (3.5 qt)and 1 qt of 10w30 in it. Its happy
  20. when I had my 2.5's I always ran 15w40 yearround but in the winter I would replace one qt.. with 10w30 to lighten it up a little. Guys at a jiffy lube in las vegas almost had a heart attack when I told them to put 15w40 in a then new 2002 OB wagon. It ended up comming down to...do it or I'm leaving. back in the old ea-82 days I liked 15w40 b/c it made my motor really quiet and the oil pres. was really good too!
  21. I did that too (bent xt nose) one night back when I was in college.... I won't go into what me and the girl were doing out in a field late at night but...... anyhooo I'll take a bent nose over calling her dad to pull my car out with the tractor.
  22. agree with Cougar...both of those caps are bad.
  23. they are more stable than you think.... better than a samaruai atleast.
  24. Don't knock the tracker....I'd wheel it....think of it as a poor mans wrangler or a "new age" samaruai. Either way if it is 4wd and is $500 i think I would beat it like a red-headed step child for a while....
  25. I think the wireing is good but I will check when i do the swap. The lens' are yellowish and actually look dirty inside?! Back when I had my 86 hatch I had the same issue and bulbs pretty much did the job....but things and technology has changed since then....
