  1. I'll do anything I can possibly do to help this get off the the ground...but let me be the first to say that I am in no way computer savy (webpages)...anything else though please say something. I can and will help. Wagonsonly: You don't have to brag you know...
  2. I'd be interested in being in it too since I have the 83 and it only has 54k on it....and I did plan on bringing it to carlisle anyhow. Am i worthy?
  3. I agree with the others. When I was out there in my "new back then" 02 OBW I noticed it got sluggish and I had no idea why (stick) but then I really looked around a little and realized I was going up the whole time and didn't even notice it. I later turned on the GPS and confirmed my origional thoughts. Is he driving on snow covered surfaces? Doesn't sound too fun to me....(when you are really trying to get somewhere quickly) goodluck!
  4. I thought I was the only one that had withdraw. glad were back on.
  5. welcom aramchek! nice wagon.... Hey I grew up out in your area (Everett). My uncle used to live in your town and run an autoparts store...and I used to talk to a girl that lived/lives really close to the pizza shop on 1st street. Warm welcome to a fellow pensylvanian.
  6. dude...dave and melis are the last to get anywhere...trust me on this. The odds of them being last anywhere is about 100%. But to their defense....they did have a blowout on the way down last year though.
  7. personally I wouldn't worry about it if they can provide some documents like gary said. you know the saying....sh@# happens. I know someone who broke a t-belt and it only had 40k on it. Sure you hope it never happens but like I said... sh@# happens. if the overall cond. is good then I say try to get them down a little and take it. For reference: my folks bought a 99 sedan with 61k on it 2 months ago for $7800 cash/no trade at a mom and pop dealer. Drive it and if you like it beat them up a little on price and buy that thing and enjoy the snow for once.
  8. if you have a snafu and you need some assistance call me....I can be in lebanon in about 25 min. 717 572 1160 otherwise....have fun!
  9. *cough* 94 in a 55 (was slowing from 105) in an xt-t once.
  10. ever consider a lease? I think subaru is still offering $199 (for 48 months) sign and drive till the end of the month. If you keep it under 12k a year it might be something to consider. I know if mine bites it this winter that is most likely what I will do.
  11. when I bought some newer soobs lately I was getting the "teflon paint protection" I can see a difference in my friends Honda (1999) (he has it on his car) compared to others on the road today and he doesn't have a garage. I was pleased with it on my old forester and Impreza. As for rustproofing....my Imp was gooey underneath from something and I didn't pay extra for it... factory? Realistically i prefer to undercoat myself mostly b/c i think I can do a better job than a highschool kid who really doesn't care about my car can do.
  12. is there a difference in cams between the 2.2 and the 1.8? I'm interested in this swap down the road in my imp.
  13. no. the svx uses some sort of strange gear ratio that isn't anything like the "rest" of the subarus use. I it is a lower #...I think it is a 3.54 or something like that
  14. now you have a wind deflector for when you decide to tow that big heavy camper behind the brat.... Just messin'.....looks great
  15. you folks missed a good one today!!!!!1!!!!!!! Ben and Dave had some really great runs in the morning and in the afternoon Dave had to leave for personal reasons so I took his place in the svx to say that it kicked (you know what) would be an understatement. Pics will eventually follow Oh and John in his "flying coffin of death" did really great too. He was the only one representing the old school out there.
  16. I think that all SVX's are LSD as long as they are AWD (don't forget there are a select few 2wd svxi out there)
  17. that would be me that started that on xt6.net come on folks I have seen the pics and it looks like a great time. I am going to be a dragon virgin and you can be too! KBD makes the trip from CO. so i think it might just be worth the trip... (for me it will be about 500 mi or so) Even though it is an "xt6" activity it is open to all subarus...heck I am going in my impreza Lord willing ofcourse! Plan your vacation days at work accordingly!
  18. going to syn isn't too big of a deal..it might leak a little till the seals recondition a little but it should be fine. I am switching mine to syn at the next change and it will have 141k on it when I do.
  19. the garageman i go to says that he never does it b/c they usually don't need it. If they do it is somewhat costly b/c you need to buy a shim kit. I'd say if it doesn't rattelaround too much don't worry about it.
  20. like I said... a Honda is a tool and a subaru will be your friend. Trust me on this one.... I've only had 18 of them.
  21. is it really hard to convert a VLSD to a different gear set? I have a 3.9 VLSD and I want to put it in the impreza which I think has 4.11. Really i am concerned with the backlash and the gear meshing right and not having a singing rear while I go down the road. Give some tips and stuff like that. Doing a swap at -20..... dude your hardcore. I give up on open weather working at about 30...but then again I have problems with my hands....
  22. do yourself a favor.....if you buy a new one go up to Becker in Allentown. I always get a great deal up there and it is totally worth the drive. Talk to Bill Pasco...he is a heck of a nice guy. If you want my honest opinion...I think the honda's are soleless cars that have a real lack of personality...but then again what did you expect to hear on a subaru board. If you have never owned a subaru I really don't think you will ever want to be in a frontwheel drive car ever again after it snows here. This I do know for sure!!!!
  23. I saw that hatch about 3 weeks ago 2 miles from my house.....so i guess those folks are local to me. hmmmmmm maybe nextime when i see it I will have to take a walk and get a better look at it...
