  1. michelle likes it and I am gagging into the toilet as we speak:-\ Bucky is the shizzle and always will be....how is that coupe doing???? Are you going to have an end of summer come to CT for a cookout meet?
  2. do you have to take off the center nut (the big one) to get it loose? or is that only 2wd's that you have to do that with?
  3. if I can be of help please call if need be.... 717-572-eleven sixty Have fun at Hershey PK....don't forget to go to chocolate world and go on the "tour".....which is very similar to my 8hrs of hell everyday....and don't forget the "great bear" rollercoaster...it is my favorite!
  4. long time ago we (my family) had a k5 blazer that the cruise didn't work in. The brake pedal was making just enough contact to the switch to not allow it to engage. When you followed the vehicle at night you could just see the faintest amount of light flicker and that was the problem.
  5. Well i finally got it running tonight. I got some advise from my garageman which is pretty much what was said here about compression and fingers etc. Basically I put it in right but the previous owner must have really did a fudge job on it because he had it off 90*. Basically when it was supposed to be at #1 it was at the next one (3maybe) So I would personally like to thank everyone who either by computer helped with this or showed up and crawled around my tight dirty garage (Ben). Hopefully soon I can get to the shop to have a light put to it and have it fine tuned to run in all its 52k glory! thanks again everyone!
  6. I have an EJ18 impreza and I filled it last weekend and got 29.85mpg and that was mixed driving. mine is stick AWD. The main reason that the ej18 got dumped for the ej22 is for power....110 vs 130 or 135 (I forget) Also there is in such thing as a 93 OBS....they didn't start that package untill 1995. if it is really a 93 it is most likely just a sport wagon (which is cool too) Either way it is a good car and a good motor!
  7. WTG!!!!! keep saving the oldies..... they seem to last longer and run better! Excelent score my friend!
  8. is the fuel mileage good or is it in the tank? I have had O2 sensors go before and never leave a CEL but my mileage usually suffered.... i replaced the one in my old 95 impreza once and went up 2 mpg on the spot. As for the map/maf or whatever...if there is a disruption of signal it will shut you down quick. I have had issues with the plug getting corroded etc. this may sound stupid but....do you have the a/c on when this happens?
  9. let me guess..... no CEL right? I'm thinking for some strange reason...MAF?
  10. you never said what kind of mileage is on the car. BTW, my impreza has a sloppy shifter like that too.....
  11. no pulse.....so i guess I need a distributer. ( I bought a rotor just incase that thing took a hit) Went to Napa today and they told me $289 +exch. for a reman. What do I do.....reman or find one used and hope for the best? I really can't understand how a car with 53k on it can have a bad disty.... I'm comming to the hunch that the accel coil finished off the guts of the disty or they were bad and the high power actually made it work for a little while longer. Now that the coil is dead and the "correct" parts are on there it won't run. Does any of this make sense??? I losing my mind here.
  12. new coil that is grounded but still no spark.....now where do i start looking? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Have fun in MT!!!! I like that place....I enjoyed my drive through a few years back. Good luck with the job hunt and enjoy the view! If you haven't looked around Butte that place is pretty cool too!
  14. that is my favorite part too. I like to make it go really fast sometime too....:-p
  15. when you tear apart an auto tranny you should have the drive wheels up off the ground (In this case all 4) and run the car in all of its drive gears for many minutes to make sure all the fluid is worked around and where it needs to be so it doesn't cause stress when you drive it up the road after putting a fresh tranny in it. As for fluid checking....what Josh says....
  16. how are coils grounded? Does the chassis of the coil have to be grounded because when I tried the xt coil I just layed it there to try it. Does it need strapped down to work? TIA
  17. I'll try to be as brief as possible.... On the newly aquired 83 sedan I was doing the brakes today (sucks) and it started to sprinkle...my wife put the key for the impreza in the ignition and got it jammed. I actually got the key cyl. to turn far enough for the car to start up. I was trying to get the key to turn back now but I kept hitting the start position (keep in mind the car is running) so I can hear the starter loseing some teeth so I decide to pull the coil wire (while it is running) to make it stop so i don't ruin anything. 20 min later I get the key out and we decied to try out the new brakes...now the car won't start. I hooked up the coil but it still won't fire. It is getting gas (I can smell it) but no fire. The coil is an accel yellow coil so I figure what a coincidence it died right now... hmmm so I grab the one out of the XT-t and try it. It won't fire with that one either. I tested the the xt coil with a light and it iluminates going from + coil to -bat but the -coil will also put out a little light going to the -bat. The accel will indicate 12v at +coil to -bat but nothing going -coil to -bat. To top thiings off I ripped the coil wire (coil to the distributer) so now I need to find a new coil wire:banghead: ... anyhow which coil is correct and did I fudge something up pulling the coil wire while fast idleing? WTF? Please help...
  18. well I always wanted a "classic" soob. I went and looked at this one last wknd and fell in love.....so this weekend I went to see it and made a pretty good deal on it. Here is the link to the marketplace topic: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40514 I put about 75 miles on it tonight. WOW that thing can go. I'm lovin it already. It is going to need some minor brake work but I am so stoked. Updateds as they become available......
  19. 06= rally pig face impreza. FWIW, I don't like bugeyes either. My recently traded blobeye i thought looked sexy but I traded it for a gen 1 (which I have heard reffered to as the camry look) Hows this: RS= pig face WRX= rally pig face STI= screaming rally pig face Actually i think if the top of the grille was flush with the hood (not the small indent) it might look bettAr. Also I think on the silver car it looks bettAr too. I'm not much of a fan of red...:-\ oh noooooossssss!!!!!!!!1!!1!!!!!!
  20. ^^^^^ AMEN brother (could not have said it better).... also it isn't anything against anyones prefrence but i absolutely hate clear tail lights.
  21. I looked for a brochure on it (I have a decient collection) but of course I don't have the info you want. BUT, I can tell you how to find out.... jack up the whole rear (both back tires) and spin one of them....if the other one spins the same way you have an LSD if it spins in the opposite direction then it is an open diff.
  22. if you wanted to be a real jacka$$ you could primer it in an orangeish color and put an 01 on the side and a flag on the roof... the neighbors will really be going WTF???? Start on the engine yet?
