Searching under Subaru Leone I came up with these 6x140 Hubs for sale - pretty decent price too (for someone who's not confident with doing the job themselves) Does anyone on the board own these?

The hard lines? I'm pretty sure as long as they aren't rusted as fuck you should be okay. I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the hard lines before, only the hoses.
-
Fuel Injection hose is built stronger, to withstand larger amounts of fuel pressure generally found on fuel-injected cars. Standard fuel line is not able to withstand these pressures over long periods of time. I guess the bottom line is either shell out for some FI hose and have the piece of mind for the future, or have a good nose for gas and carry several lengths of standard hose around with you for good measure.

A naturally aspirated EJ20, EJ22, EJ25, EJ15, EJ16, EJ18 engine will bolt any extractors to it that were made for an NA EJ engine - they're all identical as far as exhaust ports and bolt-ups go, regardless of whether the engine is in a Legacy/Liberty, Impreza, etc. Cheers.

turboing a non turbo ea82

That's what they said about gasoline too. Worked out well, eh? Ah, true, if you're wheeling, there's going to be something bent or broken eventually. But to say it's only fun if things get broken is a bit strange - why don't you just enter a demolition derby and be done with your cars then? -

From what I've heard of your wheeling style, the EA81's becoming non-existant enough to affect your wheeling is the least of your problems. But that's just what I've heard... I do agree with you on the EA82 bodies - well the wagons anyways, just long enough to sleep fairly comfortably in the back of (for someone who's 5' 10" anyways - that is). EA81's - not so much. -
That's a rockin' little hatch bro - get a D/R in that thing and once my wagon is up from the South Island we should hit up the Kaipara Dunes

You'll have to be mighty gentle with that EA box if you want it to last - if you are still going to run the EA box that is. Good luck

Radio Wiring Schematic for a 79 Brat
rxleone replied to adema2626's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
It's really not too hard mate - four wires will be for the speakers (if you're only running two that is). Then (since it's not exactly going to have fancy automatic aerials etc) you should have four wires. Red for ignition power. Yellow for accessory power (constant always-on power), orange for the light dimmer (which you don't need if you don't want it, there probably isn't even a dimmer wire in a 79 BRAT ), and black for earth. I find it's best to create a new earth using a small lug attached to some bare metal behind the stereo, then use an existing earth. You can't always trust them in old cars. Come to think of it, you might even need to wire up an accessory from something in the car, since it's so old. I did in my EA82, because for some reason it didn't have one, or if it did I must have missed it. I wired it off the door light circuit, seeing as that is a constant power. A simple test light and some common sense should set you right. Have a few spare fuses handy in case you cross some wires. -
No. I don't think it is. The turbo on a EA82T is an IHI VF7, which has a different flange to the T3s.

High range 4wd on an 89 Brat

I see, makes sense. Thanks for explaining that -

You sure it's in 4WD-Hi? I dunno about Brumbies, but in my Leone wagon (EA82) if you put the lever between the Lo and Hi gear by mistake it can't engage. It's also bad for the box apparently try moving the lever a little bit up or down and see if that fixes it. -
who has put CD player in 90-94 loyale?
rxleone replied to bgambino's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I don't think the dash swap is too bad, unless you're swapping a digi-dash in. The earlier EA82 Leone dash-swap is one of my up-and-coming projects after the EJ22 and lift, so I'll keep you posted and tell you how it goes Also, if I were going to do the separate tach idea again, I probably wouldn't put it where I did. It's pretty annoying having to look over at your tach - would be better on the dash somewhere around the gauge cluster. -
If someone knows of a cheap way to ship them, I'd be more then happy to send some over for what I got em' for, plus a couple of dollars for pulling and cleaning them in the spirit of helping my fellow Subaru nuts

'82 GL 4WD Wagon... stomp lamp indicator light issue

Been in water any time recently? First thing I can think of is water is bridging some plugs somewhere in the car.. -

Easy... Got the tach from Repco, was cheap as chips, about $30 or something... It's got four wires. Power, earth, lights, and the tach signal wire. I got the power and earth from the stereo wiring, ran the light switch wire from a wire off the fusebox (I think, it's been a while) that went hot when the lights were switched on, and then just ran a wire from the positive (again, not the best memory, so may be the negative) side of the coil, back through a grommet, up into the dash. Easy as. It's all in the instructions anyways, so if you get stuck, they're pretty straightforward. It's a cheap tach, I think the brand was Trico or something? Seems to do alright though, it's been in there for about nine or ten months and still runs fine, if not a little hard to see at night. -
91 Subaru Loyale, smells like exhaust.
rxleone replied to jonjon11's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Not to mention that carbon monoxide is extremely bad for your health.... I'd be fixing that pretty soon -
All of our fuel injected engines have a separate crossover - its the carb and SPFI manifolds that are combined.

Like that? -
I would, but I don't even have an EJ22 gasket on me at the moment mate. I think it could be easily solved, but as you said, seeing as there are no bolts clamping the crossover to the block, you could run into problems very fast. I think what I'm going to do is simply run the carbed or SPFI EJ18 heads on the EJ22 block. That way it raises the compression (which should bring power up, hopefully to nearly that of an EFI EJ22) and I won't have to mess about changing out distributors . Of course, that doesn't help those of you who live where there are only EFI heads. I'm pretty flat-out with work at the moment, so I doubt I'll be back at the junkyards till next weekend, but I'll keep everyone posted on the distributors and hopefully be able to grab a few manifolds.
-
Okay, so the weather decided to clear up on Friday just as I was leaving work, so I got to the Junkyard on Saturday yay for me.. but unfortunately, the car I had been told was carbed was in fact SPFI, and the distributor had already been taken However, I did grab the SPFI intake manifold, which, as far as I know, is not the same as the carb manifold, but is close enough to build an adapter on to Here's some pics for you guys in the states.. Enjoy Sorry about the blurriness on some of the pics, camera seems to be playing up and don't know how to fix it... So, all in all, not a bad little find - I know there are some more SPFI cars floating around the JY's up here, so there's plenty more where that came from, and if worse comes to worse, and I can't find the original carb manifold, I'll just get an adapter plate for a Weber made up, and slot that bad boy on
